Well, if the schools aren't going to teach kids about sex, then I guess it's up to Ghastly and the wonders of the internet to set kids straight about this very important subject.

I still say the abstinance (and ignorance) only pushers operate on the same logic that would say to remove seatbelts from cars to make people have fewer accidents. If you don't have seatbelts, you'll drive more carefully because you don't have a "safety net." (Actually, its closer to "having seatbelts will make people drive more recklessly because they think they have a safety net" which translates more easily to "people will have sex because they think that they have a safety net (in condoms). Don't teach them about condoms, and do teach them that sex will kill you, in all circumstances, (unless you're married), NQA, and they won't have sex.)

<sigh> Honestly, telling teenagers sex is TEH EVAL!!!!!111!!!1oneeleven!11!! will never solve anything, ever. There's really no reason to go into detail here, since everyone here seems to agree with this sentiment.

I have yet to find anybody that has a valid point in preaching abstainance.

ridiculous.

and on a different subject abortions!
regardless of how you feel about abortions, they cant be illegal, people will do them anyways (FYI, DIY abortions will become the norm again). not unlike drinking! feel however you want about alcohol, but it cant be illegal, crime and misery will proliferate

*gets down from off his soapbox*

thanks

Wilmo, I really agree with that blurb on abortions. I think the same thing. Plus, even if you don't think something is right doesn't mean your morals can supercede everyone else's.

if only someone would figure out the gene that codes for stupid, and find a way to get rid of it. here's hoping that the inevitable decay and collapse of america happens quickly enough when it comes for the rest of the world to learn from it and fix things.

Kitey, America hasn't cornered the stupid market, not by a LONG shot.

no america hasn't cornered the market, but it does seem to be furthest towards inevitability of collapsing under its own weight.

Again, I would suggest you take a nice long look at the world before making that sort of assumption.

Seriously, I never understood how someone could be anti-abortion and anti-birth control. Seriously, the best way to stop abortions (and whether you're pro-life or pro-choice, you still want less abortions to happen) is real, honest sex education. Tell children sex is all bad and when they grow up and find that it's not (and they will), they'll know you were lying and go nuts. I've seen the Catholic School Girls when they come to college, and they're sex crazy (not all, of course, but certainly a higher percentage).

Not just sex crazy, but also kinky as hell.

On abortions, I once saw a link to a nifty article that showed a lot of hypocracy in the ranks of the Pro-Lifers. Not just murdering doctors, but taking daughters or even themselves into the very clinics they protest. The very next day, they're back out there protesting.

Stupid stupid stupid.
