I'd say so.

Joker on the other hand was very much alive when the movie ended. Which is sad because the guy who played him very much isn't.

Still, it bothers me how at the end of the first movie they told us who the next villain was going to be. Yet this movie did not. that kind of inconsistency bugs me to no end. Unless the next movie will focus on Batman running from the cops, in which case there will be no inconsistency.

---minor spoiler---
Also, the cops in that movie made me sick. most of them were paid off by the mob, yet every time a cop got killed they started shouting stuff like "no more dead cops". That was way too close to real life for my tastes, but then again i have a rather strong dislike of cops in general.

still, an amazing movie.

I thought it was interesting how the Joker was poking holes in the already thin fabric of humanity. The distinction between good guys and bad guys got a little blurred at one point.

It felt a lot like "The Killing Joke" in that the Joker wasn't committing crime because he wanted to get rich (and proved that point dramatically) but more he was desperately trying to prove that everyone was just as messed up as he was and only needed a little coaxing to bring their madness to the surface.

Then Christian Bale goes home and beats his mom and sister?

Although apparently the "assault" was him yelling "GTFO" when they came and asked him for $200,000 to raise his sister's kids.

What, $200k all at once? I can see helping spot money for small things, but what do they want, a house for free?

Saw it yesturday.

It was great yes; just a few complaints.

One, for osmeone who claims to not plan anything, Joker had some pretty complex plans (especially the parade assasination attempt). Seriously, I could see Yagami Light watching this movie and thinking "Eh, too complex".

Second, the movie dragged a bit towards the end, and the fight between Joker, Batman and the whole hostage scene was in professional terms a Clusterfuck.

Liked the ferry scene, though.

I didn't like Bale's Batman voice at all, it was horrible. In fact I think his performance and acting talents in general are a bit overrated.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure the "in the Batman suit" voice was supposed to be some kind of deliberate voice-masking thing, hence the weird sound. I have a feeling that that came up in the prequel, although I can't recall exactly when. I can see how it would be annoying, though; it resembles a cartoonishly overblown "edgy antihero" voice.

toward the end of the movie some of the lines sounded so over the top and over acted in the "batman" voice that it was hard for me not to laugh at was supposed to be some of the most impressive and meaningful lines in the movie. oops

In some comedic thing or other that I make, I'm going to have to have some dog or something walk into the panel/cameraview/whatever and have it go "NARM! NARM! NARM!" to indicate that yes, I am playing this atrociously-done dwama for laughs. ``

Careful there. You may find that not many readers will actually get it.

Point.

In that case, I shall try to use it in a game or animation or something, and have it sound like an actual dog-noise, so that for those who don't get the reference, it'll come off as "so badly-done and over-acted that it's making the dog bark."
