Underwear, brazillian cut knickers, g-string, edible-erstwhile-draft-excluders, the list is endless :D
I shall keep myself in oysters for the rest of the week, thank you very much.

"Pants" is a common English (i.e. British) synonym for panties or ladies underwear -- underpants, as it were. I have been corrected numerous times when I have made the statement that I "just have to put my pants on" to be ready to go out, as that conjures up disturbing images for her of me slipping on something lacy or frilly. Disturbing for me too -- my ass is far too large to pull off something like that. :D

interesting... I usually hear "knickers" and "frilly bits" etc from my English girls. I'll have to experiment.

It may also be a regional term, and not as common as I originally suspected. Having limited travel experience in the UK, I can't say for sure.

I've got a few pairs of those.

For those who think they're bad: any recommendations on other options that a guy can get away with acquiring? ``

Perhaps "boxers" implies something different over there than it does over here... But, in America, boxers could not, in any sense, be considered "supportive". On men, they are so loose as to barely touch anywhere but the waistline.

On women, they make awesome shorts. I have several pair :-)

I'd like to add my support to the idea of the replacement of the word "panties" with something more dignified. When you're down to that little clothing, the last thing I want to be doing is talking like a child.
EDIT: I suppose that might work for some people. For me, at least, that's no good.

And I'm not the sort to say no to anything without a damned good reason, so anyone who happens to like their underwear in those cuts and fabrics, have at it, but I'd rather not be seeing 'em other than on women. Then again, I don't much care to see men in any state of undress, so my bias is clear.

they're comfy

I also seen slave panties before
they're like normal panties but they've got a bit of a pouch
and you pull your cock up in them rather the usual down
look very comfy
I should see if I can find them again

Boxer-briefs, maybe.
Provides the same coverage area of regular boxers, but a snug fit to the body.
(but still slightly less supportive than regular briefs or even thongs)

My vote is for bare as you dare, except ~grimaces~ under my scrubs. It's so very much more comfortable, but the scrubs are hospital issue and worn to the point where the extra curviness is immediately obvious. You'd think people who work with other people's bodies all day would be more accepting but it's considered unprofessional to let one's buns be clearly imaginable. Oh the horror! ~rolls her eyes~

My stepdad used to call them "bloomers," and the word has always amused me. It's old fashioned, made quaint through disuse, and i like the way it feels in my mouth when i speak the word.

Aww, that's no fun. Don't shapely female asses bring the dead back to life? ;) Could come in handy at the hospital...

I've never worn a thong, but I consider briefs to be a bit too supportive, to the point of being constrictive.

I've always worn briefs. I guess it's a matter of habit.

Heh, I used to have to wear "bloomers" in primary school. A.K.A "Scungies" in Aussie slang. They covered your normal underwear for sport, etc. Thy remind me of knickerbockers :D

Hmm, I should look into these ... "slave panties" ...

There's no adult stores anywhere near where I am, though. :(
