I must admit that "blinding lights and squids = Ghastly´s" was my immediate response to this article, Í need to get out more :o

Big deep-sea squid emit blinding flashes of light as they attack their prey, research shows...

I wish it said how bright "bright" is. I have a feeling it doesn't take all that much to dazzle a deep sea fish.

Its not like headlights going off in your face, but its pretty bright. Kind of like a dim flashlight going on in your face after you've been in a dark room all day.
