Ouch. And now I'll have to go back and look at the page she first appears on to see if this is a flashback...that redhead looks the same, at least.

ETA: redhead looks the same, but the blonde on the first page ("Think how she runs away") is not. And the guy with the curly brown hair on the current page looks like The Captain. Intentional or accidental, Ghastly?

Just wanted to say... i really love the art in this comic, Ghastly. You do such a great job! I don't care that there's no dialogue, determining the story is fun, as is kind of looiking at and running through without forming opinions, just seeing what pops up.

New is up!
So, this isn't the final installment of chapter one, is it? One or two more?

Also, some plot thoughts I found interesting:

Elves and blades: The elves seem related to magic blades. Was the boy turning into an elf when set down the blade? Would the Healer have turned into a human if she had kept the sword?

Elves and illusions: Did the Healer cast an illusion or did the Lieutenant just hallucinate his Fiancee?

Roguish reactions: When saving the Fiancee, was the Rogue doing a fist pump in the last panel? Perhaps he was overjoyed because he won't have yet another romantic entanglement to keep him from his blue-ish dream girl? He seemed so disappointed when he woke up next to the blond nympho contortionist. (Okay, the nympho contortionist part is just an educated guess.)

Skills of the Captain: I'm glad the skulking Capt. doesn't seem done for; he showed much promise. He defeated the Sword Mistress without a sword of his own, with only a hook block and a pistol whip. That's moxie! I await his return.

The fun thing about this comic is that it becomes a different story with each chapter, rather than just the continuation of one tale. I'm looking forward to sharing one of my versions when the chapter ends.

Yes, I've been out of country on an undercover assignment for the L.T.A. Freebooters' Mead and Marching Society. (The Lighter Than Air Freebooters include hot air balloons, blimps, dirigibles, zeppelins and anti-gravity devices.) I must not discuss details, you understand; needless to say, my mission involved diabolical mad men, beautiful women with unnatural lusts, and vile dens of twisted depravity. It kind of makes me wonder why I really had to leave this forum at all.

My cover story for my absence is that my e-mail address crashed and then I forgot my password into the forum. Unable to change the password without the e-mail, and unable to register a new e-mail without the password, I spent months in forum limbo, an involuntary lurker. A feeble alibi, but good enough.

But I'm glad to be back!
