And to add to the spirit of christmas - with hard rock and roll! I just got sent this link to what has to be the cheesiest but coolest over-decorated house on the interweb. Well I think so anyway, it's so cheesy yet cool it has it's own backing music
I saw that on snopes.com (a favorite website of mine). The cool thing is he broadcast the music over a low power FM transmiter so people can listen on their car (or other) radio while they watch. Much better than blaring it from loudspeakers and getting murdered by your neighbors.

Hah. Being geeks, George and I had to go look up how he did the wiring. He only has about 80 channels on his light controllers. The Light-O-Rama controllers sound pretty cool. I was wondering when someone would put out a controller you could drive from your desktop computer. Too bad the software only supports Wind0ze. This would be an ideal application for a Mac Mini (I've already seen them used as video drivers). Would beat the hell out of the "professional" light board we have to deal with that occasionally freaks out and starts spelling out "H E L L O" on the LED display...
This is Trans Siberian Orchestra. Generally when you hear a rocking good Christmas song, it's them. The song I believe is Winter Wizard or some combination of that title.
Just saw on the news last night here in Detroit, that the house (located in Ohio) has shut down/off the display. The fire dept. requested that the home owner stop the display, because the amount of traffic it was generating was making it impossible to get through the neighborhood if there was an emergency. I think they said it was something like 300 cars a night.
