I haven't graduated to that level of stuff yet. When get to play with photographic stuff, it's either from a digital still camera or someone else's screen caps. But mostly, when I'm converting to GIF I'm working from computer rendered output. The software that I was talking about that wants to (or offers to) output in AVI is low- to mid-end rendering software like Vue, Bryce, Poser, etc. Maya's next on my list... So I'm not yet sure what it's output options are, but I'm a'feard AVI will be there, since (I think...?) it's theoretically a lossless format... And the direction I'll be going with Maya is for digital special effects and video postwork.
