PLANET OF THE FRIGGIN' APES

Okay, first off, there are no spoilers here. No one had better post any. I'd have killed anyone who even tried to spoil this movie for me, so have some respect for others, fellas.Secondly, I don't have much time because, right now, I'm somewhere in the backwoods of North Carolina. I'll be back home on Sunday... it's been quite a trip. I've visited seven states in the past two weeks.Anyway, to the point of this post... Planet of the Apes met my (high) expectations and easily surpassed them. Great movie. Tim Burton did a great job, and the cast was wonderful, overall... Tim Roth deserves a fuckin' Academy Award nomination for his performance. He had it sooo down. The make-up, costumes, and effects were amazing, too. I'll be surprised if they don't all walk away with awards. The ending might sour some people's views on the movie, but I thought it was perfect. Bottom line: see this movie. ASAP!Oh yeah, the guest strips have been great. A lot of my co-workers, who know that I worship Tim Burton and Danny Elfman like gods, are trying to tell me all about this movie. They're complete discks who know I haven't seen it yet. They know that this will most likely lead to their violent and gruesome deaths, but so far, hysterical deafness on my part has led to their lives beings spared... But, the point of the post here is - everyone here who has seen it seems not to have liked the movie. It almost seems like they are suggesting that Burton could do something wrong...My question is: what would the great Ugagi and MoFo advise that I do to these heathen non-believers?------------------

Excellent movie... just got back from seeing it. I'm very pissed about the ending though cause quite frankly it had nothing to do with the movie what so ever. That's the 2nd movie I've seen this summer that was really good but they need to learn where to end the movie at.------------------

I didn't like the ending because it was cheesy and predictable. Big shock of the season, my ass.

That movie kicked ass. Tim Burton is a master with creating very narrative sets. The costumes where top notch. I actually liked the story. It was funny how heated an argument got between a co worker and myself about the movie. He hated everything about it and said it was worse then battlefield earth...god some people erke me..but then there are smart people like the ones on this board who liked it. I don't think you like the ending though..cause you did'nt get it.

You know what though? Most of the shit they said, if you haven't seen the movie or anything, you have no clue what they're talking about. And anyway, it's not like they said anything incredibly vital, like summed it up and told the whole movie. You don't know what chimp, the whole fucking movie is chimps. Jesus, breathe. Methinks you guys overreacted a little much there.

What REALLY pisses me off about that (aside from the whole "if you were going to see it, you'd have seen it by now" comment) was that this was posted in a thread that opened with "Okay, first off, there are no spoilers here. Especially when there's a seperate thread FOR spoilers.I don't care who you are, you don't give away parts to movies and you sure as hell don't blatantly piss on the rules that I've stated on my own fucking forum. It's a shitty thing to do.If you're somehow mystically drawn to post spoilers on a message board and you have to do it, do it in an appropriate thread and warn people that it's what you're doing, either by posting a notice at the top of your post and then scrolling down far enough before you type the spoilers or use a scroll-over trick as Usagi's done. As was said by him, it's courtesy.------------------

Methinks (and please do correct me if I'm wrong) Usagi took the liberty to actually delete some of apathyburn's post as well as mask it. Seein' as how I'd already been spoiled, I un-masked it, just to see what he'd chosen to censor (heh heh heh) and I don't recall seeing the truly offensive part when re-reading it at all. Maybe my memory's playing tricks on me, but maybe Saggi was wise to what could do the most damage and removed it completely. I don't give a FUCK about X10's AMAZING X2 Cam and wish these popups would stop jumpin' up in my face...

I went and saw this movie, and while i don't think it was great, it wasn't bad either. I definitely got my 6 bucks worth of monkeys.
