I'm wondering if Allan's use of labels and names is coincidental in this case. . .*listening to Billy Joel's 'Captain Jack and resumes lurking*

I somehow doubt Allan had that song in mind when he named the dude. In the same way that I doubt Jack of reaper fame was named using that convention.

Jack is named after Jack Nicholson because of his role in "As Good as It Gets" where he plays a surly OCD-afflicted romance novel writer, because that's how I'm picturing him, you know, in my head...

The development here between Alex and Jack might prove to be interesting... Also, is it just me, or did Jack leave his tact behind when he woke up this morning?

that's a good point. his sister sissy also seems to say what's on her mind in a vary literal fashion. but at least they're honest.

I have more or less intentionally designed Jack to be someone Alex finds intensely annoying to the point of "aw, come ON, he's just BEGGING for me to punch him" in part because Alex will be *forced* to interract with him on a fairly regular basis given his proximity to Pierce, and in part because ~I AM TO BE HAVING SOOO MANY EVIL PLANS~ involving this and other interactions...

Now, now, this isn't a mayhem-and-yaoi-fest comic.

There's females in it too.

Most of whom scare us on some level (Saundra's brilliance and willingness to resort to violence...though she has mellowed mind you, we have long memories.), are either actively trying to take over the world (Sissy), are actively part of the secret cabal trying to keep the world from being taken over (Pegasus), are lesbians, and thus of interest and yet not of interest to those of us still possessing straight male tendencies (Liz and Sappho), or, are quietly trying to take over the world in other ways (Lain, Rhonda).

he has a point though i rather like Lain as her aggressiveness means i won't have to worry about mixed signals. i just hope that she finds some one that measures up to her standards. i think Alex did but i'm not sure.
