Sociopolitical Ramifications (Bob Is The Mighty Gip?)

Post by Tek Roo »

Is it possible that Bob is not really Bob at all, but is actually the mighty Gip? I am beginning to suspect that this world that Twapa and friends are living in originally belonged to Guinea Pigs, who were sold out by Gip when he turned their world over to Zirrus and Xheotris Industries (15 Dec Panel 9).

Gip, adopting the ambiguous name of "Bob", may have moved in to the world populated by Phashia and Ampersand following the betrayal, allowing Xheotris Industries to populate their newly-acquired world with those they have cloned, bred and whatnot, to serve whatever evil purpose they will serve in the future. An army perhaps, to conquer other worlds? The possibilities, once the bugs are worked out, are beyond imagination!

Whatever happened, Gip/Bob was probably tricked by Zirrus, or at least been led to believe that XI was only into it for the common good. It is obvious that Gip/Bob is starting to feel guilty about this nefarious deal, and wishes to set things right.

And, I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but is it mere coincidence that Erin's Apartment Number bears more than a passing resemblance to Fox Mulder's apartment number and the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything? I think there is more going on here than we can possibly understand!

Hmmm.....So Do I, Elix.

I doubt Bob is Gip......I think Gip was probably a guinea pig messiah that passed away. However, the rest of it has promise as a theory. By the way, The answer to the question of life is 47. We just don't know what the question is. (Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy!)

Interesting theory Mr Tek Roo, but what do you mean with their world? The Untitled world? If yes then everything would have had been ruled by guine pigs not even the lifetime of Zirrus away, and so it'd surely still be remembered by the inhabitants of the world - would it?
By the way, The answer to the question of life is 47.
Nope, it's 42. ;)

That is indeed the ultimate answer to the question, "What is the meaning of life, the Universe, and everything?". But that answer is rather meaningless, because the question was so vague that the answer has no useable context... and so the Earth was created as a living computer that would answer the question, "What is the question to the ultimate answer of the meaning of life, the Universe, and everything?" Unfortunately, it will be blown up by the Vogons several seconds before finishing those calculations.

Just so's ya know. : ) Don't Panic, and bring a towel.

Well, at one point as Ford Prefect and Arthur Dent travelled into the past of earth, they found some cavemen and one layed the message "what is 7 times 6?" out of scrabble letters. He though mixed it all up again frustrated later. But it can't have been the searched question, the computer had just started then to look for it. I won't be till a few thousand years later that a girl sitting in a caf

according to my sci-fi trivia powers,

the answer the supercomputer came up with after millions of years was "42".
and the question was "What is 9 times 5?"

http://www.ced.appstate.edu/whs/hitchhik.htm - "42"

http://lists.village.virginia.edu/lists ... /0537.html -"what is 9 times 5"
(end of page)

http://www.geocities.com/elvichar/six.html

Ford and Arthur walked away from the cavemen. The results of the scrabble bag test had been disappointing. Six times nine did not make 42. Six by nine was 54.

"Six and nine eh?" Ford grinned, "who'd have thought it."

Odd, It appears I was wrong, but at least I was wrong in the right way.

If I recall, the reason the pot of petunias thought that was because Arthur had been the cause of its death in several of its previous lifetimes...

Or something.

Geez, it's hard to remember the contents of 5 VERY TWISTED, CONTRADICTORY, AND IN OTHER WAYS VERY MESSED-UP BOOKS which I read several years ago... heh. I had trouble keeping it straight when I was reading them!
