but while we are here...what's up with the last panel? there's thought bubbles coming from three different places. the horse. mallethead, and ??

I'm sorry it took a couple of reads. Maybe
the narrative was a little choppy.The thought balloons are coming from the
horse, Mallethead, and the other horse.BoxJam is talking about a super hero who
changes words, and thus, the world, by
replacing letters in words. I knew a lot of
people wouldn't get the reference, but I was
hoping it would either kind of explain itself
('Letter-Man must be some kinda super hero!'),
or people wouldn't get it, but realize BoxJam
was just blathering on about something that
interested nobody but him.Guess I missed.------------------

No, actually the comic was a hit. I didn't get the reference, but I figured he was blathering on and on. It just took a few reads because I have been pretty stupid lately. The Adventures of Letterman were terrific!I also liked that every panel had an ADVERBLY! caption box, mocking the way that old comic books and serial comics tried to create a hightened sense drama. Of course, to have REALLY been effective, you needed to add an exclamation point to each succeeding caption.You know, on reflection of the whole theme, this strikes me as being more accurately described as "Ant Ranching" rather than "Ant Farming".Pooga, thinking out loud again------------------

I think... I'm not sure, but I think I have the .wav file on my home computer from The Electric Company introducing LetterMan.I got the joke, BoxJam.
