That was one of the best yet.

I am still blown away by the simple, yet touching prose in the last panels. The elegant shading. The Kurosawa allusion. The bold use of chiaroscuro. The in-your-face perspective with the cliffs and water. BTW, is that a 14th century Japanese influence?

Oh, wait. That was Prince Valiant.

At first, I kept refreshing the page, thinking the image wasn't loading properly. Suppose the spider gag in the announcements had put me off my guard towards April Fool's jokes. Good one, BoxJam. (Though not nearly as frightening as discovering that a page devoted to classic Warner Bros. cartoons had turned into The Unofficial Gary Coleman Show Fansite.)

What I'm afraid might be the biggest April Fools joke is PVP joining Keenspot.

We'll see, eh?

Though I'm late in coming to know the joy of Boxjam, I just finished reading the archives.

Only moments ago, I passed through the wonderful 4/1 doodle.

I refreshed 3 times.

-- guess it works for a late fool, too.
