Okay, so here's who we have on hand:<P>- The original eight: Well established already. It still remains to be seen why Rumy's even more heartsick over Rikk this year than before.
- Jackie: We've seen enough of her to get a basic idea of who she is (and that she has the potential to give both Will and Shanna some major headaches). Still plenty of directions she can go, though.
- Meighan: Despite plenty of cameos over the past year, she hasn't really revealed too much about herself, just that she's a friend of Katherine and Shanna (and is evidently either lesbian or bi). Her little blurb today suggests that she isnt as much of a fan as she makes out to be...
- Stu: Most definitely a jerk (maybe the Mike-equivalent someone suggested?), but sounds like a good way to bring Guthrie into the spotlight.
- The veteran. This guy might have some serious potential. If he was really in the military, his past could interconnect with Jones, the FIB in general, or Mr. Erixon. Then again, he might have just watched too much Patton.
- The Potterite. Clay waiting to be molded. He could go a million different directions, but I doubt he'll survive his first adventure with that optimism intact.
- And then there's the remaining two in the back row. Could just be filler (not EVERYONE in the club gets involved in the more interesting aspects), but one or both may surprise us.<P>[edit: dammit, I got cut off the first time somehow...]<p>[This message has been edited by FlyingFish (edited 11-18-2001).]

where is Meighan? That's not her in the front, I think, so where is she?

What happened to all of the filler characters at the beginning of the series? They don't look too old, so I don't think all of them would have graduated, and they seemed geeky enough to continue to come to the club. Did they get brainwashed way back when and the experience turn them off fandom or something?

And how about the guys that appeared in Guth's story? Did all of them graduate or have they just not shown up for the first meeting?

She's changed her hair slightly, which may have thrown some off track. I always recognize people by a combination of hair and face... it took me years to get used to Sara Cole with short hair.<P>[edit:] Meighan's hair change has to do with a change in her habits which... well... you'll get to see for yourself. Soon enough.<p>[This message has been edited by T Campbell (edited 11-19-2001).]

The adventures of the previous year are to blame.<P>In that year, the club has been fired upon repeatedly, abducted repeatedly, had their privacy obliterated, and, most recently, been blamed for the destruction of their old meeting room.<P>The "core seven" have gotten more committed to the Club than ever... they risked death for it, after all. But more casual members have gotten increasingly nervous about attending... except for Guthrie, who knows that it is quite statistically unlikely for the Club to be attacked without warning, no matter how often it has happened before.<P>Most of the newbies have been drawn to the Club because of its reputation for strange activity. Not all of them really understand the danger...<p>[This message has been edited by T Campbell (edited 11-19-2001).]

Ah, good old Guth. It's a funny thing about him. He's the only real supporting cast in the SF club. Everyone else is either a main character or a bit player. Guth's the only one in the middle.

That doesn't seem to be your style, but it never hurts to throw it out there.<P>*Red shirts, I think security officers, were bit characters on Star Trek, who were known to die in the first couple of minutes of many an episode, in order to show the danger of a situation, and for a little drama. Red Shirts weren't always in red shirts/security officers, but the name stuck as a joke among Star Trek fans to identify disposable characters.<P><p>[This message has been edited by Doublespeak (edited 11-19-2001).]

Man Judgement Rites was wacky. "Let's alternate a fun mission with an incredibly boring one that's frusterating to play and they would never make a TV show out of."<P>I had no idea how I passed the second mission, and I get fed up with the fourth mission and never finished the game (odd-numbered missions good, even-numbered missions bad).

Judgement Rites is great the closer you get to the end. "Museum Piece" was particularly fun, as was the last mission, both of which I've stolen various times.<P>And, no, I couldn't figure out the second mission either...<P>------------------

Yeah, well after I tried desperately to unscramble the Gamman's message in adventure #4 for far too long, I gave up in disgust.

Assuming I'm thinking of the same game everyone else is, I couldn't even get past the third mission. You know, with the hijackers? And the bomb? I remember the malicious glee I got from transporting the bomb onto the bridge and killing everyone...ah, those were good times.<P>------------------
