What software do you use?
By the way - I like the comic. A couple
of them felt *too much* like Calvin and
Hobbes to me, but it's really fresh and
funny.
------------------
Here comes BoxJam's Doodle!
Good ol' BoxJam's Doodle...Yes, sir!
There goes BoxJam's Doodle.
How I hate it.

I am using photo suite to do the coloring, after scanning the comics I drew. That is until I find something better. anyway. Any suggestions? As for the *too much* like Calvin n Hobbes thing, yeah they are a big influence of mine--but I figure as the comic grows, it will take on more of it's own voice. Hey, at least I resisted the urge to have a talking teddy bear!
Thanks for the compliments! Yours is one of my favorite comics on here, so that's cool that you liked mine too.

------------------

I asked what software you use, because
if it were PhotoShop, I could've told you
how to shrink the image while keeping it
normal looking. Look in your software's
help for 'anti-aliasing' - that's the magic
trick where, when you shrink an image so that
a couple of yellow pixels and a couple of
black pixels get smushed into one pixel, it
makes that pixel grayish-yellow, creating the
illusion in your eye that everything's normal.
If you blow up just about any comic, you'll
see lots of blended-color pixels at the
boundaries.
I'll try to plug you soon from my page -
should be good for 4 or 5 hits. If I forget,
please remind me.
Thanks for reading the Doodle.
------------------

Wow, who dredged that old post up? Somehow it appears here with the recent ones. I guess the switch to new servers stirred up a lot of old ghosts.

Reading this made me quite nostalgic.
I hadn't yet learned how to do anything with imaging software, my drawing still sucked (more than it does now), and Boxjam called me out on being a little too much like Calvin and Hobbes.

Wow, how things have changed. I don't get the Calvin and Hobbes thing anymore. I think I have somewhat found my own voice, though it is a long process.

I especially love the part where I flaunt my ability to resist the urge to make Mr. Bear real.

woops!
live and learn...

I'll confess, T&P did remind me of Calvin and Hobbes at first.. but the thing most people don't realize is that doing a whimsical cartoon from a "child's" point of view is a damn difficult thing to do! Bill Watterson (sp?) was just the first to do it in syndication and do it very, very well.. so any who can continue the tradition with talent, style and apparent ease should be worshipped, not heckled. ^_^

Of course, my returning here time and time again has absolutely nothing to do with my worshipping the penguin mascot of Linux. Honest. No.. really. ^_^

The sweet irony of this resurrected post is that when I read it, I thought it referred to the UTTERLY MASSIVE Keenspace logo at the top of the message board.

It's a very big Keenspace logo.
