The archives can answer that. "Tupla" is a word Lily found while she was trying to figure out exactly what the posse were. According to the strip and the Tulpa.com website it's a Tibetan world for a person created from the thoughts of another.

(That particular thread began for no particular reason the previous strip and ran just over a week.)

Good evening.

So is he like a Batman type dragon, or what is he?

Interesting accent at the end, I wonder what it sounds like? German?

I thought Detective Gelarid was just concerned about an untrained civilian trying to play superhero. Even with 'powers', that's a scary prospect for any cop. Considering the size of Bens favored hand gun, he could truly be consdered a loose cannon.
Now, though.
Not only does he have 'powers' of his own, but he seems perfectly comfortable, even familiar, with things like the posse. I have to wonder if he is worrying about Ben messing up the hostage situartion, or about Ben facing something even nastier than heavily armed evil clowns.

I'm sorry. I just realized a wrote a dead serious analysis of a situation that ended with "something even nastier than heavily armed evil clowns." :o
I need to go stick my head in a carton of dippy-whippy ice cream now

I suppose it would be too much to hope the clown's gun is loaded with a flag that has the word "Bang!" on it. :D

Good evening.

Very good, now hopefully Lobo won't decide to do a headcount of his assistants anytime soon...

Well, where ever this is leading, I have that feeling that this will lead to some despriate 'confessions' if it gets to the 'climax' of the action.

Dare I explain?

Nah.

I don't think he'll need to. He probably sent #3 back to find out what was keeping #1 and #2. That won't continue. He'll just assume some cops got inside and were picking off his people.

Well, I was pretty close, actually. Four down, nine to go.

Somehow I don't think Detective Gelarid's too worried about bullets. Is that his strategy? Drain Lobo's ammunition?

So what's the posse going to do? And how do they let Ben know?

(Has anybody else noticed that Lobo done up as a clown is reminicent of the Joker from Batman?)

Draining ammo seems like a perfect plan.

Now, take advantage of the distraction AND WARP BEN AND LILY OUT OF THERE NOW!!!!!!!

Hostages, dude. No way Lily and Ben would be that selfish. They're gonna do their best to help take Lobo down if they can. Failing that, they'll wait for the Posse and the detective to take care of things.

However, I can almost see Ben rousing the hostages in a moment reminiscent of the events on that fourth plane on 9/11. They talk amongst themselves, Ben manages to instill some courage in them, and the famous words are uttered once again: "Let's roll."

Of course, charging the bad guy's head on would be suicide, so it'd be best if they stayed down until either Lobo and his goons run out of ammo or they can manage to sneak up on them and bop 'em over the head. I just hope Lobo doesn't have any aces up his sleeve.

And I still wonder if the bank was his true target...

Currently, Ben's with Lily. And I gotta agree with StrangeWulf. I doubt Lily and Ben (not to mention the Posse) will be willing to leave , at least not without taking several people with them.

Regardless, this situation is getting too hot way too fast...

The detective is either REALLY fast, bulletproof when in 'shadowform', or has illusion powers (manipulation of shadows?).
Since they are all facing the same direction now, perhaps a rear attack by the hostages and/or the posse is in the offing.
Alternatively, since they are in a rough line, perhaps a shotgun/machinegun/VERY high powered rifle attack from the side by Gunther might work. The high powered rifle is probably the worst option, shooting through three of them at once might be a nice idea in theory, but the geometry would take some VERY close work between Sheldon and Gunther to work out (I think) and besides it might tend to go through the walls and hit innocent police... unless the angles worked out that the vault would act as a backstop... and that is not even getting into whether Gunther is even capable of materializing and accurately/safely firing (recoil considerations on small body) something with that much penetration power. And besides, 'only' two or three at once might not be fast enough...

Good evening.

Well sure, but if Lobo & Co. are distracted, the Posse can warp the hostages out one at a time, hopefully very quickly.

Either that or they will rush to the exit while the Lobo gang is occupied.

That does sound rather risky though.

Maybe they will wait until the dark hero defeats the foes, and then leave.

The possiblities go on.
