Looks like somebody is anticipating the teddy, to me.

Keep in mind that ministers in most faiths can marry (the notable exception being Roman Catholic priests), though I'm not sure about this reverend. In addition, lace is used for other things besides lingerie.Bo Lindbergh wrote:So the reverend can tell one kind of lace from another? He must be a lingerie connoisseur.

Justice of the Peace? Or maybe to the Reverend?

The first web comic community that I became involved with was Elf Life (back when it was updating several times a week), and this is the avatar that I developed back when I was active over there.Archae45 wrote:BTW TGIF, what exactly is that icon of yours?
I guess that you could describe my avatar as an older, bearded traveler with a tall multi-purpose walking stick. Rumors that there are blood stains on it from some of its alternative uses should not be believed. :o)
In some minor ways it isn't that far from reality, except I wear a black fedora and frock coat and my beard is untrimmed and only partially gray.

I think if it was large I could tell, the icon looks a bit like a conehead or ALF.TGIF wrote:The first web comic community that I became involved with was Elf Life (back when it was updating several times a week), and this is the avatar that I developed back when I was active over there.Archae45 wrote:BTW TGIF, what exactly is that icon of yours?

Funny thing about that, I read that in a lot of southern states, those who marry young are rather prone to divorce.Chaser617 wrote:Granted, I hope they said this in private company but still, its nothing horrible, hopefully those two will be married in a few years (we got Lilly and Ben hitched over at GH, we can only hope for Tuck and Thelma) nothing at all wrong with what they said.
Those who marry in their 20's or older stay together longer.

That's probably true just about anywhere. Maybe people in the south do it more often. Or maybe that's just a stereotype.Archae45 wrote:Funny thing about that, I read that in a lot of southern states, those who marry young are rather prone to divorce.![]()

How old are Tuck and Thelma anyway?

The statistics can be read different ways. The South has both more marriages and more divorces; presumably because younger folks in (possibly) more immature relationships are more likely to get married than to just shack up. The blue states (heh, that's a pet peeve for another post) are more likely to keep immature relationships unofficial and off the books. Any particular marriage, though, cannot be treated statistically. Tuck and Thelma are childhood friends who grew into this relationship almost unintentionally; they'll be stable when (?) they tie the knot. The marriages that break down are more likely to be the ones based on physical attraction/perceived popularity instead of emotional attachment; y'know, the football star marrying the head cheerleader kind of deal.mwalimu wrote:That's probably true just about anywhere. Telling tales
It was implied that the reverend blabbed on Thelma. Remember, thought, that the girls at the party probably knew exactly what she ordered, and also know that she and Tuck are sweethearts. They could have supplied the details.

I think he is either going to take her to a clothing store (perhaps a designer one), or.... hmmm.... I have the general idea, but how specifically would it work...
1.) Drive to the nearest city.
2.) Park near a single's bar.
3.) Tell her he ain't leaving 'til she has spent an hour inside, and, no, he ain't coming in, that would ruin the whole point of the exercise.
On second thought... well, the idea still needs some work.
Or he might go to a community art college (modeling school??) and get the EXPERT opinion of one or another of the faculty or students.
