Your mother has a hairy back.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

On one side- "Turn over card."

On the other side- "Turn over card."

Hee, Hee, =^^=

Yes, children, there was once a time, before the Box of Distraction and Flashing Lights reduced us to merely twitching our thumbs, that we would actually entertain ourselves by means that did not involve electricity...

Back when there were mechanical computers?

(I'm thinking of a toy that used marbles and demonstrated logic gates)

What's on the cards?

That is what the children sing at the "reveal" of the card at the end of each segment: "Pythagoria Switch" It's the name of the Japanese children's show these come from.

According to Steven denBeste, it comes out as "ピタゴラスイッチ pitagora sui-chi" (hat-tip to Steven denBeste's terrific Chizumatic Anime site - scroll down to the 20060417.2030 entry).

Edited to add the entry number.

James beat me too it.

A friend of mine collects episodes of teh anime "Bleach" and this was an april fools joke by the fan sub group that releases it.

I have a much better quality AVI of the video that includes one of the "song and dance" pieces from teh kids show that the "bumper" spots are from.

Oh, goodness, those were incredible! I must admit I got tired of hearing the same thing over and over again, but still... it was well worth it.

Makes me want to go build chain reaction thing-a-magigs myself now! (I'm sure the fact that paper-writing is the alternative has nothing to do with that fact. Actually, I'd probably want to, anyway, but the paper-writing alternative probably strengthens the inclination :P )

“You go whistling in the dark/ Making light of it/ Making light of it/ And I follow with my heart/ Laughing all the way// Oh 'cause you move me/ You get me dancing and you make me sing/ You move me/ Now I'm taking delight/ In every little thing/ How you move me”
~ "You Move Me"
