From The Waste Land, T.S. Eliot. Looking up those lines was what brought the tears to my eyes. I hope that everyone reading this is well, and that you don't have to deal personally with loss of loved ones as a result of the evil terrorist acts of today.
------------------

Unreal is the right word. Yesterday when I was at work, some co-workers were talking about a 767 crashing into the WTC, and I found myself thinking 'What are they talking about? Planes don't crash into the WTC. That can't be true.' We spent the rest of the day watching TV, basically. And I did my share in taking down the CNN web site.
I still have this strange feeling that I ended up in a disaster movie.
I hope all RoCR readers in New York, or any family or friends there, are alright.
------------------

All of the people I know in NY are OK, thankfully, but my cousin in D.C. is still unaccounted for. I didn't worry last night when they said the death toll was around 100 people. Now it's jumped to around 800, and I'm nervously hoping everything's still fine..
.c.
