Copy and pasted from the wiki:
Replacing a strip with the same strip, modified

If you only need to make a small change (fix a typo, correct the color, etc) and basically want to replace the existing strip with the same strip (so long as it's the same size - height + width) then all you need to do is delete the original strip from the public_html/comics folder and upload the new comic image to the public_html/comics folder. You don't need to put it in the workspace folder or run an update as the html code for that day will look for the image in the same place. Since it has the same name and is the same size, it'll fit straight in.

The only problem would be for readers who have already seen the deleted version as their computer would most likely continue to display the unwanted version. The solution is to simply refresh their browser and they'll get the new version from the server.

Replacing a strip with a totally different image

On the other hand, if you want to replace a strip with something totally different ("totally different" is an image that is not the same width + height, even one pixel difference counts as different).

However, this is quite easy. Simply follow steps 1 to 4 in "Deleting a Strip" above, then upload the new image(s) to the workspace/comics folder.

Once the files are uploaded, then do step 5 and trigger the update*.
*You might have to wait for an automatic update; I understand siteadmin isn't working properly right this very second.
