What's your comic's site?

If it's packrat.comicgenesis.com then you would ftp to ftp.packrat.comicgenesis.com - not the server itself.

If you want to upload comics in greater blocks then you will want an independent ftp program. SmartFTP, CuteFTP, Dreamweaver - take your pick. Of the free ones, CuteFTP seems to be the 'best' but that depends on which features you want.

errrr... having thanked you, I SHOULD do my best parinoid
(sic) extremeist thing on web 2.0....

AND concentrate on help desks..
AND note that creating and enforcing rules CREATES evil
AND point out only a weirdy LIKES hurting /helping people
AND remember that no good deed goes unpunished
then
slink back into my cess-pool. Like soap, it's slimey but it's home.

HA!

Oh ... kay ... :-?

Just because I can:

I SHOULD do my best (paranoid) (sic) (extremist) thing

Nothing wrong with being paranoid. :D

note that creating and enforcing rules CREATES evil

I'd point out that good and evil can only be 'created' or defined by an independent, omnipotent external entity. We can only define what is right and wrong within a society, so rules will only create wrong-doers, not 'evil'.

point out only a weirdy LIKES ... helping people

I've been 'weird' all my life. So I'll take that as a compliment! (Who wants to be 'normal'???)

remember that no good deed goes unpunished

I've found this to be true time and time again. And I still don't learn my lesson...

Have fun! :)

I don't have a windows-based ftp yet, so I'm using the old FTP.com that runs in DOS.

mput *.png works for me although you have to type a 'Y' after every question. It buffers them, so you can go YYYYYYYYYYYYYYY in advance.

HEY! ftp.username.comicgenesis.com WILL NOT WORK. We don't have it properly listed in our DNS setup, and if your comic moves, it WILL BREAK.

FTP into your regular domain: username.comicgenesis.com
NO "ftp." prefix. None needed. NONE! Save bandwidth! Run light without overbyte!

Admin name is forum name. Get into the habit of signing into the forums with capital "P" Packrat, as the siteadmin and the wiki (which use the same login) are picky about such things.

yes it's THAT time of year again...

time to repost 365 cartoons.

trivia first.

battles with signing in.. the way this reads, what i did shouldnt've worked, but did..

(main page 'forums' link uncrossable... sign-in from help page link worked.

onward. post the updates, (when i find a ftp utility)

NOW to try ftp.packrat.comicgensis.com and/or ftp to packrat.comicgenesis.com (aka starwolve's suggestion)

gotta remember the blasted admin password thou.

this once a year stuff doesn't cut it (I load a new OS every few weeks. cuts the clutter down, new tools (pencil, an animation kit on ubanto is great!)
blender as a green-screen is STILL mind-boggling)

hope you don't mind the static as i blunder my way thru this. (took over an hour to get the rename scripts to run. i expect the same for ftp'ing.)

I can't get into mine at all! I tried everything you've listed so far (the ftp.username.comicgenesis.com and the one without the ftp) but it won't let me log in, so I can't set up my site or do anything! I'm new to this whole thing and I have no idea why it's not letting me log in. Help?
