Siteadmin backed up?

I triggered an index update at around 3pm Pacific, and there were about 300 comics in the queue. That update has yet to go through, and by now there's almost 800 queued up.
Just wondering if things are backed up or stopped.

Yeah, I'm in that line too. Darn traffic gets busy during rush hour! Heh Heh.

Yeah, I'm just curious because some backup is pretty regular, but it's usually not in the middle of the day.

Kisai and I were doing updates over yesterday, and locked ourselves out. Until Darren gets to the server and unlocks it for us, we cannot fix it.
We are trying to get Darren and Nate to give us another server so we can build a safe, fast setup. Progress is slow and we may need everyone's help to convince them to pay attention to CG.

I was able to access the SQL server from the forum server itself, so on blind faith and by the seat of my pants (not jeans) I cleared the clog. I'll be able to properly diagnose the comic that died (nts: 21218) when we get access to it again.
This does not solve our long-term problem: Butch is up against it's CPU and soon it's drive space limits. Part of it is that it's old hardware, and part of it's RAM went bad and was removed. The other part is that the OS on it, FreeBSD 4, is no longer supported and the only way to safely update it is to put it on a new system and move to it. Ether way, we're overdue for upgrades on all fronts.
More details on in a different post.

I used the reason we don't allow php on peoples sites to reset the service, so it should be working now.
