Animation in addition to comic

Post by ArcoJawa »

The comic I am currently creating, SP Black Rhapsody, has both a comic version and an animated version. There is one of each for each chapter in the comic, occationally with different event happening in different versions.

My Quesiton:
Does Comic Genesis not allow or have specific rules pertaining to animations and if so where may I find them on the site?

Please warn me if I am breaking any rules with this.

Animations are fine. They often make things interesting, if they're well put-together.

Just read the FAQs to take note of what CG doesn't support, code-wise. It shouldn't be a problem, but I know nil about animation, so it doesn't hurt to check.
This is going in my notebook titled "Things I Didn't Know about Surface Dwellers."

AFAIK it'll depend on the format.

If by 'animation' you mean an animated gif then it wouldn't be a problem, but you should optimize as much as possible.

If you mean a short film or video, then you'd probably want to host the video file somewhere else (such as Streamload or YouTube) and just have a frame on that day's update with a "click to watch the video" link.

I can easily host it on Deviantart(I had planned on something similar to what you suggested). The animations ARE long, about 5-10 minutes for each animation on average I'd wager. They're flash format so they're probably not too big by way of those things, but still, big enough.
