Project Wonderful boxes

Post by Geekblather »

Okay, I looked around for another thread for this- but didn't find one. Now, I appeal the the community at large.

I signed up for a Project Wonderful adbox, but when I input the code into my site, nothing shows up where I put it. According to the PW FAQ, sometimes this happens with sites that have 'helpful' things built in.

Formerly, I had put the PW code as a part of a text document that I uploaded with my comic, and the code worked fine there. Is it possible that I could put the PW code in as a text document and include it somehow that way, without the CG 'helpful tag' system messing up the code?

Is this a problem other people have had- and if yes, how did you get around it?

I can't help unfortunately, but if ever you are not able to find your answer here, try doing a search on PW for sites with "comicgenesis" in their URL. The people managing those sites may be able to offer some advice.

I was able to paste the code into my index template, and it worked fine...

Yeah, that's what I did. Well, within a cell on my index, but it still doesn't show up.

Go back to your settings for the ad box in Project Wonderful, and save them. I've found that the ad boxes don't get properly created until "Save these settings" has been clicked, sometimes more than once.

Are these allowed on CG sites? I'd think the same rules would apply as those for Google Ads and other additional advertisements.

Then again, I don't crawl out from under this rock all that often...

I had to put the project wonderful code in both the index file and the indextemplate file for it to show up on my index page. Do you have the code on the indextemplate file?

I do- I'll try going back and saving the code a couple more times.
