When I toyed around with my layout, I decided to put a shoutbox on my frontpage, since I had seen one with several other comics and decided that I liked the effect.
I went with the shoutbox offered by MyShoutBox.Com. Unfortunately, none of the shoutboxes from this site seem to have worked for at least five days or so. This is of course unacceptable, and now I am looking for alternatives.
So, for those of you who are using shoutboxes from different sites, which ones would you recommend, and what are your experiences with them?
Shoutbox Recommendation?

Well, as of when I'm typing this, the shoutboxes you speak of seem to be up and running again (though I, too, noticed the downtime). Normally, myshoutbox.com is fairly reliable - I used a shoutbox from them for months without any downtime to speak of.
The only other type of box-type message-thing I've ever used was one from tag-board.com, and I wouldn't recommend that site at all -- tons of downtime, and slow-loading.

Sigh. Just as I had installed another shoutbox. It figures.Keffria wrote:Well, as of when I'm typing this, the shoutboxes you speak of seem to be up and running again (though I, too, noticed the downtime).

EDIT: I went with Shoutmix.Com...
I like this one:
http://www.tag-board.com/
But I did pay for the premium one. The basic version has pop-up ads and is kind of slow because of it. The premium version has archives and IP addresses in the admin screen, though, which is pretty cool.

The banner compels you to read...

All my comics (Planescape, Harry Potter Comics, Star Trek: Federation Star Defense) are available on:

Any have an idea if the other ones also have pop-ups?
As a word of warning, the tagboard ones are very intrusive (including some such as the Winfixer / Error Safe pop-up). I removed my tag-board, but was running on the free version and as Swiftbow has the premium version I am sure that is more convenient.
I would like to put it back on the site, because I like the point of contact--small that it may be.
