I believe you also go to /public_html/d and delete the corresponding html file (YYYMMDD.html) for the first unwanted comic, right?

But like he said before, you RARELY alter anything in /public_html.

You can delete the page in public_html/d as well but a relatively recent change makes it so that "comicless" pages are now removed automatically when the archives are rebuilt (either through a full update or following the upload of a new version of dailytemplate.html).

Ah ha, I see! Well, you learn something new everyday. And by "you", I mean "I".

Hi there!

Post by 4thalord »

I signed up for an account on June 15th, and was wondering if this kind of wait was normal. I have yet to hear anything about a password or something like that.

My comic's name is Doobl, if that helps at all. I really hope this doesn't come off as nagging in any way. I just feel inspired and have completed over 30 strips while waiting for this account to create.

Thanks!

Jess

A day or two after you signed up, you should have recieved an e-mail that asks you to enter a verification code. After that, it can take a week or so to get your actual password/website. (And even after THAT, it may take a day or two for the log in to really work right. Although, if I recall correctly, my account worked fine from the beginning).

Lucky you! I signed up the same day you did, but still haven't got my password. I'm checking my email like every 10 minutes...

Oy, the waiting!

Ugh, I've been waiting for over 5 weeks now on a password. I've checked everything that has come into my mail and bulk folder and still nothing. Is the submission process supposed to be this agonizing?

I've been waiting a month for the email. -_-; My questions stay unanswered.

don't wait more than 2 weeks, seriously. The system purges non-responders after two weeks, so waiting any longer means you didn't respond (and by extension, your email either a)bounced (happens a lot) b)spam filtered or c) you left an auto-reply on and you were never notified.)

setup a filter so email from help@comicgenesis.com is put into your inbox or wherever you see it, that should override any spam filter.

Uhm, i don't feel like this makes much sense. A long time ago I made a comic already called LOGO and I'm planning on changing the domain name, but I need to register a domain name with someone else, then redirect to comicgenesis with the data they give in the FAQ, right?

And in the beginning they say u can choose your ending of your url. like .comicgenesis.com or .comicgen.com Well, I wasn't given a choice and I'm not sure if I was the only one...

There's only one line in my Address so when I try to send the sign up the 2nd address line is blank and it registers it as an error. What do I need to do?

Bassium, i ran into the same problem as well. I found that it wants you to put it like so:

Address Line 1: ### Streetname
Address Line 2: City, Province/State, Country

I tried signing up for an account for my comic Neuropsychosis and I filled everything out just fine and hit verify. The page then recycled to the blank form no you have signed up message or anything. is this how it normally works or did my application not get through.

thanks
david

p.s. if my app did go through i apologise in advance as i re submitted it a few times before discovering the help button. sorry

First Email

Post by Pearlywhite »

I'm sure this has probably been asked  ...but what is the amount of time it takes for the very first email to come? Is it about a day or two? I signed up on July 15th, and I still have received no email. I'm still a little confused about the way the confirmations work. Should I sign up again? Or can the first email take longer than a couple of days? :-?

Chocoabuddha Timezones aren't a huge deal. Just play around until you find something that works. Central, I think, is somewhere near -6 or -7 GMT I think.... It's two hours earlier than the default update time...

Pearlywhite The email system is, unfortunately, a bit borked. What server are you using? Some email servers (such as aol.com) have issues with flagging CG stuff as junk. Check your junk boxes, or try signing up with a different email address. Because, officially, you should have gotten an email just saying that you submitted by now.
This is going in my notebook titled "Things I Didn't Know about Surface Dwellers."
