E-Mail never received

Post by Daviot »

Sorry to bother you. I've actually done a CG comic before, back when it was Keenspace, without any real problems.

So, I signed up for my new comic (username: siegel) and it went to completed screen. I even got the check status screen and that's fine. The problem is, it's been two hours, and I haven't received my first activation e-mail. And I sent it to my e-mail (lxputnam@sbcglobal.net), with the spam filters on manual off. Still no luck.

Therefore, could you possibly check to see if the message was sent, or possibly to a wrong or misspelt address? If those were good, could you possibly private message for an alternate e-mail? I'd like to get my comic up and running as soon as reasonably possible.

Thanks,

Alex Putnam

I'm having the same problem as Daviot; I'm using Gmail and checking my spam folder in addition to my inbox, and I have not recieved a confirmation email. The status page says that one was sent. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

hey all,
(it's me again)...i'm sorry to be more of a bother, but i finally got the sign-up page to work (yay!); i think it might've been zonealarm of a filesize (it was only slightly less than 500k). anyway, the problem i'm *now* having is the as daviot's and thenewl's. i used gmail to sign up (shift.zero@gmail.com) and have waited well over two hours with no confirmation email. i read somewhere that we should never, ever try to sign up twice, so i am very hesitant to try it again with a different email (also prohibited?). anyway, please let me know what's up. thanks!

ps: the attempted comic name is "banquo is dead" and the profile name / signup name "banquo".

Okay, I definatley sent a picture sample, but I don't think I want to use it as my first comic. I decided that it was a good sample because it was fairly funny, light, and had all the characters in it by that time. There isn't going to be any horrific problem with this, is there?

Also, what exactly happens with sign ups? I just got my email verified by cutting/pasting the code into the box. What am I waitning to do now? How many steps until I get to make the site?

Thanks for getting signups back so quick. This is awesome!

This is to prevent having 3000 empty sites again, at least if one comic is there, there is something to see. Also it makes sure people actually have a comic, or have some ideas or drawing skills. (and yes there have already been 4 sprite comics, 2 stick men and some poorly scanned artwork uploaded already. )
ummm... This presents a problem....You see I am trying to get a WEB comic because i CANNOT DRAW WORTH CRAP!!!!! I don't have completely stick men. they have stick arms and legs, and their bodies and heads are round/oval. But the ideas are original. I hope I can still have one. And if so: I'm having major trouble getting my webcomic up! I've tried to register twice, and I think my comic is pretty funny, but each time, it just gives me an empty register page like the one I JUST FILLED OUT! withg no message of failure or that i filled something in wrong or anything. And I've gotten no email for it. I'm having major trouble.

banquo, it may take up to 24-48 hours for the first e-mail to arrive.

GE, the quality of your drawings do not matter much, as long as there is something to see.

What size and format is the sample you are submitting? I'm about certain .bmp files aren't ok, and the size must be under 500kb.

First, you calm down. There is no point in swearing, getting angry OR SHOUTING.

Second, when in Paint, use "Save as..." and select a different type of format (.gif is probably best if it's black and white or use only flat colors).

Yeah, actually, I got my verification a few hours ago too. Maybe it would be prudent to change the sign to "you will recieve your verification email within an hour" to "24-48 hours"? That's really what threw me.

Thanks anyway, though.

Help! I've tried so many times to join to no avail....

Post by ChrisChrusherComix »

Hi!

I'm a cartoonist (with literally hundreds of comics to upload somewhere) who has tried several times over a few years to join your community to no avail. I've filled out the signup form more than once over the years with different email addresses and following every single instruction on the page and this thread. Still, nothing works. The button that says Verify doesn't even work. And yes, I already checked agree to terms. Yes, I put the 1 first in the phone number. Yes to all... I did the thing 100 times. Nothing works. It doesn't even accept my application let alone send me a verification email.

This place seems like a great site to host my comics and get them out there for the world to see, and I simply cannot join. Please help me in one way or another!

Well my activation e-mail took about 18 hours to come through, its probably best to wait 24 hourse maybe even 48 hourse before you post back here and say that its not coming.

The only thing thats slightly worried me about the process was that I got 2 activation e-mails, I used both and it seems to be ok, used the checker and it says thats its been activated and to check username status, I check that and it says none found, but it said it will take up to a week for the next e-mail to come through which I assume has that info on it, just hoping that it doesn't mess around trying to create two of my comic somewhere along the line :-?

Otherwise seems to be fine for me

It's not the cure to cancer, it's just a CG account. Lay off the caps and the punctuation, for the love of God.

Seriously, be patient. Wait a FULL 24 HOURS for the email to show up in your inbox. It feels like a long time, but you can always use this time to work on your comic. :)
This is going in my notebook titled "Things I Didn't Know about Surface Dwellers."

The verification mail takes up to 48 hours. You probably won't be able to use your site for a week or so though.
