I was having the same problem too, then I found what trick worked for me.

Log out of the forums. Completely log out. Then go to this link
http://siteadmin.comicgenesis.com/?&logout
and if it asks you for login information, hit cancel.

I then went and logged back into the forum, then was able to log into siteadmin. (at least I think that's the order I did it.. if that doesn't work, switch those last two)

That worked for me, but maybe I'm just lucky. (Using Firefox, btw... just in case anyone's on something else)

I'm getting this error message when I try to log in - it won't even prompt me for a user id/password:
Your browser is broken, please use Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera or something that supports HTTP Authentication!
I'm, uh, using the latest version of Firefox. I can upload stuff through my own ftp software, but it'd be nice to use CG's.

Thanks for the suggestion, even though it didn't work for me--I'm now going through the forum threads trying each instruction, but zero result so far. If the only solution is "use Firefox," well, then, I'm definitely done here.

If it's of any use to admins, this is the version of the "your browser is broken" error I get in Safari (the only browser I used for CG before the server apocalypse) following Ezra's instructions:
Notice: Undefined index: uri in /home/space/siteadmin/public_html/everything.php on line 568

Notice: Undefined index: nonce in /home/space/siteadmin/public_html/everything.php on line 569

Notice: Undefined index: nc in /home/space/siteadmin/public_html/everything.php on line 569

Notice: Undefined index: cnonce in /home/space/siteadmin/public_html/everything.php on line 569

Notice: Undefined index: qop in /home/space/siteadmin/public_html/everything.php on line 569

Notice: Undefined index: response in /home/space/siteadmin/public_html/everything.php on line 571
Your browser is broken, please use Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera or something that supports HTTP Authentication!

I got the same error.... even when I switched from Safari to Internet Explorer. (Does the new server hate Mac users or something?)

Ditto to all the above.

I tried logging out of everything in Firefox, closing browser, opening again, relogging, and nada.

Here's a quickie tip. I currently know it does not work right in Opera and Safari, I'll get to it, be patient, basically FireFox does everything right, IE does not, and Safari/Opera... does not. Let's check http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2617.txt

See if you can locate the problem, earn some genius points (pay attention to the quotes):
Safari:
username="Kisai", realm="ComicGenesis Forums", nonce="469a64fa925e8", uri="/", response="b957d384cacfc18bbbe27646f8879842", opaque="fca8a0261d1d90d2ab4db7bba822b98a", cnonce="50979117b5f55849a2d3988aae5ccea8", nc=00000004, qop="auth"

Opera:
username="Kisai", realm="ComicGenesis Forums", uri="/", algorithm=MD5, nonce="469982a340ab8", cnonce="2zIArQbtDcKA6gOEQc45EDOiAlTYiGpzbNFdDW37Nt5=", opaque="fca8a0261d1d90d2ab4db7bba822b98a", qop=auth, nc=00000003, response="fe18bd3c77fec343e7da184c05fef1db"

All righty, let's see if I can earn some genius points... It's probably nothing, but Firefox's uri= turns up an index.php whereas all the others turn up just a /.

Got Safari working. That just leaves Opera.

I'll give you a cheat sheet
Firefox, spaces
MSIE spaces
Safari spaces

Pay careful attention. Pretty much all the crap I've added to the backend to handle MSIE I reused for Safari and wound up doubling it. See I'm supposed to have a REGEX that does this correctly, but it doesn't (only works on mozilla), the rest are using kludges of SPLIT and REPLACE. In which for Safari I had to replace the space in front of the variable name, for MSIE, it doesn't have a space after the comma So I'm still looking for why Opera doesn't work. Take a look what did it do different?

Doesn't work on Firefox or IE for me. Ah well, maybe it'll clear itself up in a few days.

WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!

and yes, i did read the above posts on kisai's code issues...

why not fix the mainstream (as in most commonly used) browser access bugs first? MSIE and Firefox...

Site Admin is in the "Login Loop of Death" again.

But the comics are viewable, so that's something...

FireFox/Camino, MSIE and Safari work, please copy the error message.

If you see junk code along the top of the siteadmin, I'm working on it, however that does not prevent the siteadmin from working. I pretty much discovered that Opera is not sending a MD5 string to the webserver, so I'm not sure how to go about getting it to do that, because I can't decrypt what I don't know.

Have you tried using Quickadmin?

http://siteadmin.comicgenesis.com/quickadmin/

Use your comic name instead of forum name.

It seems like I'm one of the lucky few who have Siteadmin and FTP working fine. :-? I just need to get my domain parked and I'm all set.
