It took me longer then that to read your instructions.netpoet wrote:Exactly right, which is why I posted the How-to on the first page of this thread. I had keenspace all throughout my other pages, and it literally only took me about 2-3 seconds to replace *ALL* of them at one fell swoop.Risky wrote:It's only more complicated if you have a lot of "other" pages, like cast, about, galleries, etc.
This program (with a little resourcefulness) goes a long way in the Windows world.Terotrous wrote:This is gonna be fun for HNTRAC as it has like 200 separate html pages (they AREN'T generated automatically for the most part).
I think I'm gonna use unix to do the changeover.

Oh, I see now. Luckily I put off the new pages.netpoet wrote:Exactly right, which is why I posted the How-to on the first page of this thread. Odd problem here... I changed over to ant.comicgenesis.com and replaced the word 'keenspace' with 'comicgenesis' on every page the way Netpoet explained - but now siteadmin won't let me run a full update, so I can't upload the changed pages! Whenever i log into siteadmin and try to run a full update, it says that 'This page requires authentication' and sends me back to login. I log in there and it does the exact same thing again. Repeat ad libitum.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Hmm... I just logged into it and it did the same thing. Best guess? They're still converting that page over.Ida wrote:Odd problem here... Meh. As I see it, changing my site over to the new name will be easy as pie. I'm just dreading going through my bookmarks and links to fix the ten to fifteen keenspace comics that I read regularly. Curse you bookmarks. Plus there's the whole business card thing, with my keenspace.com url printed on it. Thankfully I've only printed out 200 so far.
This whole changing url thing is a real downer though. While my readership IS measly I'd feel really lame loosing any them because of this change over. I mean, when you've only got five readers, every single one of them counts.

In all honesty, everyone should take this opportunity to purchase a domain name. That way you won't lose readers should anything similar happen in the future.
