553 error: dailytemplate.html FTP problem

Post by AndrewTaylor »

Every time I try and change my dailytemplate.html file, it returns a 553 error. All other files work fine.

Does anyone know why this might be or how to fix it?

What do you do exactly to change it?

If at all possible, download it locally, edit it on your comp and upload the modified version back to your account. This usually takes care of most errors.

That's what I'm trying to do; perhaps I should have been clearer. I have an updated version on my hard disk and I'm trying to copy it over the old file (which I currently daren't try and delete) using the FTP browsers built into Internet Explorer and Macromedia Dreamweaver -- both give the same error, but as it's a server error that's to be expected.

Did you try the web-ftp? You can get to it through http://siteadmin.comicgenesis.com:8080 for now.
