Yesterday the auto-updater didn't update my site like usual. I don't know why... I had my comic uploaded into the proper directory two and a half hours before my update time. Date is correct.

Anyway, I've got another update request submitted, and hopefully that one will go through. But I'm curious - were there glitches in the autoupdater last night, or is something wrong with my account?

There was a period of time where the updater stopped updating, and just let the queue build to 6000+ comics. If it happened once (updater breaking) It could happen again. Probably isn't you.

My site doesn't work

Post by Kivah-chan »

The first time I tried updating it didn't work. I thought maybe it takes a day. I've waited about three days and it's still not working. I have no website no nothing. I've also made a rather intresting discovery. when I type in my website adress for my comic it said aoiroshuukyoku.comicgenesis.com, I tried it after I updated my first page and nothing happened. I tried www. then I discovered people who have signed up later then me have sitename.keenspace.com Why don't I? I'm very confused as to why nothing is working. I've tried anything, and it's getting very upsetting for me. I don't know what is going on, but it'd help if I did. I guess in short my 2 problems are...
1. Why doesn't updating work for me?
2. Where is my site?
Please respond as soon as you can. I'm so lost. Thankyou.
shuukyoku@hotmail.com, if you want to e-mail me about it. Thanks.

That makes it sound like your site disappeared entirely. Can you get into your site with ftp?

See, that's one thing... but my site wasn't in the queue or anything. The queue was fine, but my site didn't get updated.

*shrug* Manual update worked fine. Hopefully a one-time problem.

Keep getting that "bad gateway" message and the update cue is running extremely slow.

An apache tweak Kisai put in had to be backed out, as it was affecting the SQL server we use. We're fixing things and will check a few things.

I have no site

Post by Kivah-chan »

I am seriously ready to give up on this comic. I don't know what's going on. I don't have a website, I'm not sure if I'm updating right. I give up. I've tried, called for help, I'm not getting any responses. I'm ready to give up. Why doesn't my site work. The address is supposed to be aioroshuukyoku.comicgenesis.com but I always get a 404 error. Is it gone, was it some how deleted what is going on?

I wouldn't think there would be, but is there a way to bypass the stalled system and update independently of it? Other than that, is there any idea when it will be operational again?

I have updated like 5 times since friday, it always says that there is 8071 people on, and that's fine, but it will not update my site at all. It sits on the page i had there from thursday and i've got 3 more pages to upload...

Same problem as Kidneo above... I thought at first it was my FTP program, since this is the first time I've really relied on the auto-updates (I'm visiting family out of state and nowhere near my home computer/files) but I noticed there's a buildup of around 8 to 7 thousand waiting and looked here. I'm relieved it's not just us... I guess I should relax, enjoy my vacation, and be patient instead of getting all worked up. >_<

Everytime I log in, I get this message:

This page requires authentication, please goto the Login page.

What does this mean? Do I have to wait for an admin to authorize it?
I went back to the login page and tried again and got the same thing. I've tried several times. Please help.

This may have already been posted, so I apologize if it's been addressed somewhere else..

I can't log into SiteAdmin at all. Here's what I've tried:

Internet Explorer 6 on PC.
Mozilla Firefox 1.06 on PC.

Internet Explorer 5.2(?) on Mac.
Safari 1.2 on Mac.
Mozilla Firefox 1.06 on Mac.

I've also read that I need to make sure that Firefox isn't blocking Port 8080. Could someone explain how to do that?

Thanks!

Okay, I signed up for a site and I havn't gotten an email saying it worked, was thinking I might have done it wrong, but maybe this is just a bad time to sign up? (Or most likely I havn't waited long enough, but last time it took....2 hours? I think... idk....lol :-? )

((I figured the 2nd time I did this it'd be a one-try thing, but now i'm back in the help forums... *sigh*))
