swf
Ok, so my swf files are showing up as broken images, was there an announcement or something that I missed saying that keenspace doesn't support swf anymore? Or what's going on?

Ah! I see! The problem lies in the flux-capacitor; its polarity has been reversed. You'll have to get a new one.
...
Seriously, though, what is your keenspace URL? We can't fix your problem if we can't see it.

Yeah but what I'm saying is, I go to http://grrmonkeys.keenspace.com/d/20050206.html and the comic there loads up just fine for me. Did you try to clear your cache or do a hard refresh for the page?
*feels sheepish* that's the first time I've clicked one of those buttons on any forums ANYWHERE ^_^;Gengar003 wrote:*activate telepathic powers*

--- back on topic ---
I can view them fine, which leads me to:
What kind of privacy settings do you have on your browser? .swf files are "active content that could potentially access your computer," as Internet Explorer used to say when it blocked all .swf files, before I disabled the blocking. Regardless of which browser you're using, there is probably a control somewhere to block/unblock "active content;" that could be why *you* can't see them on your computer. If you dig into your settings somewhere there may be a switch for that; try allowing "active content," or easing up on the criteria for what's blocked. Worse case, just make .jpg files.
And what did you use to make the .swf files?

So far, everything's loading OK (if slow), except for a "last_comic" graphic if you have it or not. Flash support is still there (that's when the comic pages are built or updated by AutoKeen, not when they're loaded by your web browser).
You may want to "flatten" your Flash artwork into a PNG if you're not using it to animate anything in them. I will grant you one thing, Flash is good at vector artwork -- some anime artists use it.

Forgive me, but I can't find any SWF comics on your page. Just JPGs. Where are the SWFs?sketch286 wrote:hmm...nope its still funky
the only swf comics are the 3 before the index
heh, shoulda mentioned that
its shouldn't really be in the page coding or anything, it worked before for a long time and I never changed any of it.
I use mozilla, but I could see them before
Speaking of SWFs, how do you all feel about them? They provide a superior solution for quality and scalability to any monitor and screen resolution. I was thinking about making my comics SWFs.
What are the pros and cons of this? Why aren't more of you using SWFs?

We support them, but some people (including us Mozilla on Linux/FreeBSD users) have problems with dynamically resized Flash (SWF, aka Shockwave Flash). While I do know some manga artists are using Flash to do their artwork with, Flash is geared more towards animation.arvo wrote:Forgive me, but I can't find any SWF comics on your page. Just JPGs. When Mozilla and Firefox gain full SVG support (Portable vector graphics), which is slated for Firefox 1.1 (a preview release Deer Park Alpha 1 has a subset), we'll add support for it. (If you're planning on using the <CANVAS> tag for Safari and Firefox 1.1, you're already supported, it's all client-side HTML)
