Ok, so I don't know html. My friend knows html, which is great because he can create the site format for me
But I'd rather do it myself, so is there anyway I could use Adobe GoLive for making the pages and such?
Or is GoLive secretly HTML (It's not I tell you!) and I ended up making myself look stupid?
I recommend Dreamweaver over GoLive; I've tried both(and I suck at the HTML myself, lemme tell you), and just can't stand GoLive. http://www.macromedia.com should have a free trial of Dreamweaver to download and try for you.
The programs basically let you play around with HTML(yes, they are HTML...sorry) without spending hours typing and proofreading things in notepad; they're much more visual.
HTML isn't terribly hard and, in actual fact, some understanding of it is a good idea even if you're using something like Dreamweaver - just so you know what is and isn't possible. Making webpages is certainly not like desktop publishing.

Keep your friend close for emergencies.

Indeed. If you use an editing program like DreamWaver or whatever, it's a good idea to check out the html source once in a while to understand what's going on. You never know when you'll have to correct something or spot a typo in your code without the help of an intuitive program.
Think of it as driving a car. You don't have to know how to build one from scratch, but it's a good idea to learn to spot if the smoke is coming out of the carburator or the gas tank, and you don't want to mistakenly pour anti-freeze where you really should be pouring oil and only oil. :p
