Line Through the Comic--What to do?

Post by Onerabidwombat »

Hello, I've been having this problem for the last few weeks and I'm at a loss as to how to fix it. A grey line has appeared through my comic's .jpg and no matter what I do, I can't seem to get it to go away. I've tried reloading the comic. It doesn't work.

I know it's not just the computer I'm using because other people are seeing it as well.

I usually use SmartFTP to upload my comic, but my computer has gone to the Great Data Server in the Sky, so I've been using the Uploader on my Siteadmin page; could that be the source of my problem? If it is, how do I fix it?

My comic is http://ltbl.comicgenesis.com/, if you need to see the page.

Thank you for your time and help. I greatly appreciate it.

I just tested out the Siteadmin uploader and I got a very similar issue to yours when I re-downloaded my image. Looks like Siteadmin is messing up the files.

If you're stuck using Other Peoples' Computers, try carrying around your FTP client on a USB thumb drive. Portable application managers like LiberKey are great for this.

Been having the same problem, but I only know how to upload my comic through Siteadmin. Is this something that will be fixed, or can another way to upload comics be described, please?

FTP has been my preferred method since pretty much forever, and it's a lot simpler than it may sound. There is some basic information on the Keenspace Gear site that's still relevant. I like FileZilla for my FTP client.

If this is the case, you could also try Comic Genesis' own web-ftp utility...although, I haven't yet tested it to see if it avoids the siteadmin file corruption issue.

Just tested and did not get the error when using the Web-FTP. Good call.

I tried your suggestion of using Liberkey and the FPT server and it seems to have fixed the problem. Thank you so much!
