Uploading website

Post by mhennings »

I created my website for my web comic using Adobe Dreamweaver software and it will not let me upload the site on the web. I'm connecting to the remote server using the FTP setting and the test connection has been working. Is there a way to upload to the server using Dreamweaver?

Yeah, you should have received some FTP instructions when you received your confirmation email that your account was active.

Note that CG does not work the same way as a normal website - you upload the templates to the workspace area and the server automatically creates the code that appears to your readers. The author does not create the index file themselves.

You can make the index file yourself, though. But if you do, the auto-updating won't work.

Incidentally, the easiest FTP program of all is Windows Explorer. Use the Address toolbar with the ftp site name and then use File->Login As to login with your name and password. You can also save FTP sites to your favorites menu, like regular websites.
