Editing /d/ pages

Post by Ripnormality »

(Sorry if this is somewhere...around.)

Is it possible to go into the FTP and directly edit *.html pages in the /d/ directory and have them save?

Links trade? Sure, why not.

I'd check the CGwiki first, but the best/official way to update those D pages is by messing with the dailytemplate. That will update all of the D pages as you tell it to... if you want some different than others, I'd check the wiki though. They say not to mess with those pages for a reason, but maybe there is an official way to do it on there somewhere.

I did check the wiki...what I'd really like to do is set an image size for the comics without reuploading (usually through the img height/width tags).

If it's the same change for each archive page, you should be able to write it into the templates. If you need different image sizes for different pages, you will have to re-upload all your images, because every time your site updates the pages will go back to whatever you specify in the dailytemplate. I'd recommend re-uploading anyway, because some browsers don't scale very well.

That's what I decided to go with, thanks for the help. :) I'm not entirely sure it's possible to scale an image outside of the img tag anyway (with a table, maybe yes, but that wouldn't change the image size...).
