Revamping my old site...

Post by That_keith »

.. Trying to revamp my old site, thanks again for keeping it up during my *ahem* six-year hiatus, but am having a bit of trouble.

I used the template generator provided by "c.w." and used those for the proto-templates for my indextemplate.html and dailytemplate.html.

However, sending a request for a Full Update has not caused anything to change. In fact, i deleted the old "index.html" and web-files (after prudently backing it up of course) but no amount of browser refresh or switching browsers seems to reveal anything but the moldy old page.

How long does it take for the keen systems to process a Full Update?? Because I didn't think it would take long and here I sit trying to web-churn and unfortunately am making zero progress.

Please help ASAP. This is my day that I have to completely redo the website -- and I am running into a room full of brick walls. I am not a tech n00b so this must be Autokeen related, or I'm doing something boneheaded.

If you can, send me a private message and we can fix this using any messenger you choose, but time is of the essence.

(I know, what is the rush when you let SIX YEARS go by, but I'm more motivated now, and am producing strips like crazy.)

P.S.: I asked for my forums to be unlocked a couple days ago, but have gotten no response yet.

If you're producing strips like crazy, just relax. Think of it, you've got it all easy and you can just rest, pop one a day, make more and more... ;)

But yeah, CG is EXTREMELY slow today. It took a couple of hours to update something on my page. I think it might be a bit faster now, but I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure it's just the server.

Seems I have gotten the site somewhat in shape.

New strip got uploaded... then I realized OW that was not the "Final" version and still had a bad text error.

Deleted old one and put new strip up using FTP. Corrected strip is not appearing, what should I do to fix this?

Thanks

I'm not sure what exactly you have to do to get that in--if you JUST replaced the image with a new image (I assume you know how to rename things properly, 20070915.jpg/whatever, etc.), then it's probably just the slow update server again. Then again, I'm not sure if image sources need to be updated or anything... try and update from siteadmin. Could you specify more, if that doesn't help?

Thanks, Scyze, that was the problem.

The Acolyte is often an impatient hero. LOL.

Sure thing! By the way, I'm loving your new layout. I saw your old layout, and it's much more sharp and comprehensible than your last one (no offense, but the last one was kind of overwhelming). Keep adding good stuffs to it! :D

Code: Select all

<B>^^^^^^ These Words Are BIG FAT NAVIGATION BUTTONS LOL INTERNET! ^^^^^^</B>
You might want to move this line below the < /ul >, so it shows up on the next line instead of squishing the buttons and stuff together. Looks good otherwise.

Hmm I thought I had taken that out. Thing does not refresh quickly, am still working on it in any case. 80% done on next strip. :) plans brewing.
