Weird ass probelm. My site has gone back in time 0_o

Post by Paoken »

Ok, Earlier today everything was fine, but just a few seconds ago I went to log on and it looks like the site rolled back to June 20th or something...deleting three comics and reseting my main page...weird stuff. Has this happened to anyone else? Or am I an isolated case? I just added a TWC banner to my site for people to vote on...did that do it? I don't know why it would...but I've seen odder.

Heh...weird, wild crap. Thanks.

No, it's not just you. Something's gone seriously wrong. On my site, The System has replaced my last week's worth of posted strips with stuff that was supposed to stay in my buffer, and it's somehow using a version of my indextemplate page from a couple weeks back.

EDIT: OK, I see now. It's exactly the same problem that Paoken describes. I post daily, and because I figured that sooner or later I'd fail to update, I maintained a buffer of emergency filler strips which I re-date and move forward as I upload "real" strips. The whole site reset back in time to June Whatever, took the filler strips as they were named at that point, and slapped them onto the site. Grumble mutter...

My site is suffering no such problem, but that may be due to the fact that "a couple months back" my comic was still on hiatus and therefore not updating.

Well, at least they gave us a heads up on what's going on...and it should be fixed later today. Good...this was an odd little glitch. :o

Yeah, I assumed it was the DNS switch... oddly enough, my comic seems to have... updated without updating? What I mean to say is, tomorrow's comic is up today, but the site is still reverted to the older version.

Will we have to manually re-upload, do you think?

From the way the message was phrased, I'd wait a day or so to see what other changes will occur. The comics may revert back or they may not, so fixing your comic may be fine or it might be a wasted effort if it jumps around again.

And I'll try to be more definate. Maybe... :D

Yeah, I thought I was the only one with this problem... (phew). Well, STrRedWolf sayz it will fix itself later today. It kinda scared me, cuz I changed my whole website to look all really nice and spiffy and then it went back to its original form (plain and ugly). I thought I did something wrong, but I checked the web FTP and everything was up to date. oh well, things should work out soon. :)

My comic seems to be updating okay (albiet perhaps slightly early), but the page is still old... Should I re-upload now, or should I wait?

I'd wait for a more official word...but I guess it cant hurt to try right? From what I understand all the people with custom domains will be moved last...so I'll have a bit more of a wait. Oh, well...triple up date on Friday everyone, come one, come all!! :P
