Images not working
Images not working
I recently obtained a new Comicgenesis site at http://htht.comicgenesis.com and have been trying to get some images up. They don't seem to work - when the URL is accessed (http://htht.comicgenesis.com/images/first_day.gif , for example) it says it's a 1x1 image when it should be 50x50. I am sure I am not misspelling any file names. I'm sure the files arrived intact. What could be the problem and how can I fix it?
I don't see the html for showing an image on your page source. Do you have the proper code or tag on your indextemplate file for it to show up?
I am posting the image below to check to see if it is functioning properly.

Also, please note that the first_day button won't show up until you have at least 2 comics in your archive. From the CGWiki Tagtorial
Edited to add: I can see the image here, so it is definitely uploaded properly and in the proper file.

Are you using front page? I have the 1x1 pixel problem whenever I use that. If so you need to define the image size in the appearance tab of the image properties.

I don't think the problem can be one related to the navigation buttons specifically, because when I noticed this problem I uploaded some test images in various formats and they won't show up at their supposed locations either.
I don't have any comics slated to be up yet - I'm launching March 1. I just want to get everything set up so the page will look nice when it is up. My concern is not, therefore, that the nav buttons aren't showing up on the index page (of course they're not, there's nothing for them to go to), but that they won't show up at their supposed URLs (example being http://htht.comicgenesis.com/images/first_day.gif ).

Alicorn: No problem on the image being there, at least the one image (see my post above with your image.. that is using the url you gave here).
I think the 1 x 1 pixel placeholder is coming up because of the anti-hotlinking feature. (you are not allowed to show images from CG on CG sites and it sometimes looks like a different site when you pull it up in your browser).
To fully test all images, I would say to make 3 "placeholder" comics (just any images right now), named properly for them to be showing today, run a regular update, and see if the index- and dailytemplates are showing the images properly.
It looks like you are using the tags and everything correctly here, so I think your mind will be eased quite a bit by doing a test.

Maybe it's simply that navigation tags won't show up if there are no comics in the account, or no ***todays_comics*** on the page?

You mean you can't show images hosted on CG on non-CG websites, of course...I think the 1 x 1 pixel placeholder is coming up because of the anti-hotlinking feature.
