i VERY much love the idea of an improved AF!

that's the advantage of webtooning: the ability to reform! makes me want to watch Star Trek 3 again.

anyway, i'm behind you %100. sorry, i'm a little useless at this hour.

i ain't too proud to scan the thing in two pieces. of course, i also was not too proud to just quit doing comics altogether. makes sense? a new strip's in the works, though, i think, so all of this stuff will be relevant for me again very soon.

what is that in the first panel, a plate of beans? bravo on the improvements, by the way... this strip was a real breath of fresh air. i was pleasantly unprepared for the way you did the smoke. and the arrows caused me to laugh.

question. how large do you draw the originals?

Re: Killer Jets -Oct. 18th strip

I don't recall any photos of the fab four with a BOAC jetliner though... ;) http://home.att.net/~drippysporks/beatlesBOAC.jpg i scanned this from the Beatles Anthology book just for you. i know it's a BOAC because in the next picture in the sequence, you can see the logo plainly on the steps. this ...

thanks!

actually, it's becoming a little more likely that QPQ will begin again sometime... perhaps a revised QPQ, if that makes sense.

for the morbidly curious, my other web site is here. there isn't TOO much there, but that's where things will BE.

QPQ #100 was a half-assed attempt to rekindle the whole thing with a new storyline. it's still sitting on my drawing table as we speak, but i'm not going to be finishing it anytime soon. and yes, i will definitely keep the archives up, as i have no reason to take them down and i have no idea HOW to ...

well, let's get a few things straight here. a) i'm never sure of any decision i make. for all i know, i'll get over this slump and want nothing more than to do comics again. back in Junior High i did a comic strip called "Evinrude" that ran the distance of 415 strips total, but there were several ga...

"Quid Pro Quo" is over.

Yep. ALMOST a year after it started and ALMOST a hundred strips later, Quid Pro Quo has ended, permanently (i think.) actually, i do think it pretty amazing that i got this far. i had seriously considered ending it at least four times in the past, and if you know me you'll know that i'm pretty pathe...

pretty cool. i'm afraid i'm still kind of warming up to this sort of music, so i won't be able to go into much detail here... but i did like the repeating melody in the first part. i can certainly see the AF-ishness.

yeah... it's weird, though. my ideas come to me either effortlessly (accidentally) or laboriously (intentionally), nothing in between. predictably, my best ideas are the formers... today's strip i essentially wrote as i was walking through the Panera parking lot to my car yesterday. i don't have the...

in which i admit to learning something?

part of being productive is disciplining yourself to do work. a great way to discipline yourself is to give yourself deadlines. see where i'm going here? i now think it was a little arrogant of me to say i was above deadlines... and actually, i don't think it's such a bad thing to turn in mediocre w...

is it some archane British thing that i'll never understand? or is it just supposed to be taken at face value? or have i been working too much and i've become dull? or is it a celebration of onomatopeoia? or is it an allusion to something? or am i reading too deep into this?

This nonplusses me. What do you mean by decadence? all right all right. i've just looked up "decadence" and "nonplusses" in the dictionary, and i think maybe i used the wrong word there. use context clues to figure out what i really meant. also, let the record reflect that my reasons for taking the...

But I like tools (not buzzsaws, obviously; they unnerve me), and I wonder about stuff. I've seen cel-rendered 3D animation used beautifully in movies (The Iron Giant, eg), so why not a comic? As much as I love animation, I think I could appreciate the potential of comics more than animation, which ...

The first is a question of making use of the masking effect described by McCloud for backgrounds, to help manipulate the reader's emotions with ultrarealistic backgrounds... induce a sense of alienation or horror or fear, (done in 3D perhaps), for example, with characters rendered normally. Good id...

prolific. yes. that's what i meant. jesus christ. well, i'm not TRYING to be more prolific by eliminating deadlines. i'm actually trying NOT to, because when i do try to, the quality tends to go down. sadly, i don't know how much i'll get done this week, because my manager has decided to schedule me...

maybe someday i'll be able to imbellish grammar conventions with the best of them.

i do think, however, that i've done fairly well considering that they stopped teaching anything related to grammar in public schools here, shortly before i went through the system.

lord knows i've had a few. it's a real head trip for your mind, and everyone's invited! the dream that barry has is based on one i had when i was a senior in high school... mine didn't involve a big WEIRD guy without eyes or a floating balalaika. BUT it DID have flying bodies and a weird structure l...
