Good luck, man. No, I don't know anybody with the syndies. All my juice is in Vegas. I sent a package to Creators on the 15th, to the Editorial Review Board, or some such. 'Twas in a regular, old Priority Mail envelope. I try to approach the submission process with much the same tongue-in-cheek atti...

Well, I hope it's painless for you, Scott. If not, you want Scotch or bourbon?
Thanks for the pep talk.
------------------

I think the 1/25 gag works fine, no matter the source, Scott. I'm assuming you're both talking about the 1/25 Home Fries.
Hey, I get some of my best ideas during my weekly shower, but I think they come from struggling beforehand. George Carlin is funny.
Yeah, I liked Stevo, too.
Richard Pryor was funny back in the old Long Beach Concert days.
These guys were great stand-up comedians. And Steve was great in The Jerk. But sometimes stand-up comedians don't fly in other formats.
I liked the first couple of years of Sein...

The Public Eyes site is about due for a makeover anyway--I'm thinking of Flashizing it--so maybe I'll put some alternate WebTV versions of the strip up when I do. "Click here for WebTV version." I don't think I'll go back and redo all 59 of the strips. Maybe just start with #60 or so.
I did...

The "rear-end of the truck" strip is great, Scatman! Nice third-panel beat, then whammo!
Yupyop: Thanks. I posted a new thread about the WebTV thing.

In another post, you mentioned WebTV squishes my strips down and makes them unreadable. Shucks! I didn't know that, so thanks for telling me.
I wonder what I could do to make them viewable to WebTV'ers? They're simple GIF files. 604x190 pixels at 72dpi. About 20k in size, on average. The HTML is s...

Well, I dug up the information myself, Yupyop. Found a site that explained what the problem is. WebTV has a screen resolution of only 420x560, and can only scroll vertically. Images that are too wide just get scrunched to fit the format.
I've got 59 strips that are 604 pixels wide. If I went back ...

Yeah, Scott. You showed great restraint with the punch. That made it stronger. Sometimes the whisper is louder than the shout.
------------------

Yeah, Yup. I read in some book that if you're lucky enough to get your daily syndicated by a major player, and if they start you off in 100 papers or so, you'll only make about $200 a week. So three-a-week would cut that down to about $85, and that's assuming they can get 100 papers to take you 3-a-...

I got something free you might like. It's a computer program I wrote, called Gag Store. It doesn't write gags for you, of course, but I find it helps me get the creative juices flowing sometimes. It's a free download at my site...on the Prods page.
Runs under Windows 95, 98, ME, and I guess those ...

I kind of live or die with each new strip, something I need to get over. If nobody seems to like one, I get a little down and start with, "Who am I kidding? I'm not a cartoonist!" Maybe you're familiar with that feeling, too. But then I just do another one.
Yeah, I was surprised at the response on...

Hey, nice forum, Scott! And I just read through a few of your strips. Very good gags and artwork. The writing sounds natural.
Like Yupyop said--in so many words--it's not too good to overanalyze a strip and agonize over every word. Yeah, sometimes a word change or two will help, but if you've got ...
