We're going to go along with Alex and Sybil. They've really been the focus of the strip for the last year, and they are the most developed and interesting - I think - of the current cast. The others may make brief appearances in future, but beyond that, this is likely to be the last we see of them....

Something I never actually had, but very much wanted as a kid - a lava lamp! I would still rather like to have one - according to the wise this indicates my lack of taste and deep spiritual emptiness, but I think they're fascinating. (At least in shop windows - I'd probably get bored with one at hom...

In Britain we spell it "Heath Robinson". This is why.

Re: Huge, world-shattering announcement time...

The funniest and most interesting things I think of now seem to run against the seriousness of the imaginary world I've built up; I'm not drawing a strip I'd want to read any more. Perhaps it's that I feel obliged to take what I write rather seriously (especially given the level of appreciation som...

Let me see... well, there were a couple of board-games. One was a haunted house, erected on the board with cardboard walls and with a chimney in the centre. You followed a path around the house, throwing dice to move, and if you landed on one of the "cursed spots" you were allowed to drop a marble d...

I wonder if Alex' "wild animal" status would affect matters. (I imagine he's wild.)

Re: Huge, world-shattering announcement time...

My apologies to anyone who finds this disappointing behaviour. And my warmest thanks to everyone who's put up with and supported my erratic state of mind over the strip; I hope you'll come back and put up with me again when I return. No worries. Thomas K Dye of "Newshounds" is doing much the same r...

Um, do you have the BeeGee's "Shadowdancing"? I hear that's what they play in hell, over and over, for eons and eons and eons ... :D I'm horribly ignorant of all music, but ages, ages back, there was this song which went "O-kay, friend, now you're a Luvver-Duvver!" to an exceedingly, jingly Eurovis...

They really should move that jug and plate and stuff from the Falling-Fox Zone. The stippling was interesting and effective, but I'm glad to see the special AF-brand shading again. As well as being wonderfully atmospheric it gives the strip's world feel very solid. It's also very distinctive - I can...

Can't let this thread go without mentioning Tailsteak's One Over Zero, a long-running cartoon-strip about life in a long-running cartoon-strip. It's funny and brainy and has some wonderful characters. Heh - "horizonite".

"The second volume in Koestler's trilogy on the human mind is an study of the processes of creativity and imagination in which Koestler explains that humans are most creative when rational thought is abandoned during dreams and trances." Hmm... Possibly. I dreamed a new variety of daffodil a few nig...

I can't reach it either. Strange - other Keenspace comics seem okay. The old toothandclaw url works fine.

I see the Gorey influence, by the way. :)

I rather like the full-stops. They look vaguely wierd and ominous, at least the ones in the studio. The explanation of her work seems pretty average Pseuds Corner stuff.

Before this thread gets lost in the heap, there's a strip worth mentioning. Lacunae has beautifully eerie artwork, with the "furs" having non-human faces that add to the strangeness of it.

Maybe they didn't want anyone to see the photos and get the wrong idea about their relationship? Or the right one?
