Since I recently bought a tablet, what software does everyone use? I see (Adobe) Elements is used, what are some other favorites?

saving in gif? (shivers) i would yank my teeth first.
Don't bring your "holier than thou" views of file formats here; they are both perfectly useable for line art for the web.

Which programs can do this? Not PhotoShop 5.0, unfortunately... Well, if you knew Photoshop, you wouldn't say that (:)) I did that in Photoshop 5. Change the color to RGB (Image->Mode->RGB), then change it back to indexed (Image->Mode->Indexed) and tell it how many colors you want. Save for the web...

I was able to take your current comic at 118 KB into 47 KB by lowering the colors to 3-bit (8 colors):

This is what I did when I did my webcomic; clean pencil/ink with no color/gradients do very well in GIF with a low color depth.

I used to use printer paper, once way back long time ago. It tends to turn yellow and brittle with age, though. Have you had any problems with that? How do you store it? Nothing I have is really that old so I'm not sure how long this stuff will last. I have some that's maybe 4 or 5 years old as the...

I used to use a sketch book, but i got tired of all the smeering of the pencil. Rather than to try again with a better quality sketch book, I just use printer paper. It prevents me from rubbing pages togeather because I can't very easily do that anymore as they sit individually in a folder rather th...

I have a major qualm with these images; the art is strong, but I see little to no dialog. It's almost as if there's word balloons, but nothing in them. Untill you rectify this travesty, I'm afraid I can give no praise of the images in question.

PS - Art is good

Mozilla runs on Windows. Don't complain. :P Of course, using another browser than IE would be best, but if they're getting crap installed 'accidently' or maliciously by visiting 'odd' websites, what makes you think they'll install Firebird or Mozilla? I'm am seriously *not* pointing the finger/call...

If you use IE, I'd recommend Google Toolbar for pop-up window problems, I use it and have had good results.

EDIT: BTW, I turn off everything except the pop-up blocker, so I have no idea if the other features it boasts work as well.

I'm not sure what effect levels or curves will have on the color but you might try tinkering with those effects the same way you would with a pencil or ink drawing. That would clean up some of the smudges and you might even be able to use dodge and burn to lighten and darken the colors a bit, post-...

layers, ughhh, i just got finished with a really bad experience with them. My school asked me to make a comic book for the upcoming education day. I said ok. So i drew it up and scanned it and my wife colored it. When i went to combine it, i had to move every sinle layer seperatly. I might try laye...

I don't know how the professional manga artists keep their style so consistent.. but they have been drawing for much longer.. ^_^ Bingo; drawing a character over and over and freaking OVER again and again makes you better and better. When I can, I like to make a character sheet, especially of a mai...

Wow, this is, in my opinion, bad. The name itself, "superhappygoodtimes", screams 'lame' at me. The art is terribly crude. Alot of it doesn't make any sense or make me want to continue reading. The only good thing I can say is that the fish in a balloon filled with water is kinda interesting/neat id...

Whoops. Sorry. As a few people might have noticed, I'm a layer fiend. I even use layer sets to organise my layers.
I love layers. I can't imagine doing anything without layers.
If it doesn't have layers, it's MS Paint.

It's sorta like saying all computer games should fit on a disk for people who don't have a CD rom drive. No it's not, because having it on a diskette means you still have some people who can't load the game: those without a diskette drive (like I lack, on purpose), unlike resolutions, where it just...

To cover nearly every base you can in terms of no-horizontal-scrolling, your comic should fit onto a display of 640x480, so a good maximum width of anything should max out at 600 or possibly 620 pixels, to allow a few more pixels for browser scrollbars/controls. However, I'm not one to limit myself ...
