I already responded on your LJ, Sloan, but now that Pimpette brings it up:

I'm not usually a fan of the "mopey, alienated high-school student surrounded by cruel, beautiful people" web-comic genre (yes, it's a genre), but I like yours. Go figure.

Yep, he's a stuntman.
No, he's a stuntman-singer-songwriter-music video director. He's a hyphenate!

Michelle had an awful Drawing and Painting class teacher in eleventh grade... very full of herself even though she didn't really know what she was doing. She asked Michelle if she planned to take another art course in twelfth grade. Michelle said she planned to take Cartooning and Animation II (she...

There's nothing I hate more than guidelines. Especially when they're teaching you how to write poetry. Which shouldn't be possible anyway, but there ya go. God I hated creative writing. *shudder* We had a poetry assignment in my class, of course. It was to write a Shakespearean sonnet, quite possib...

Okay...here's two examples of writing activities I get the kids to do once or twice each term. First, I put a quick topic on the board such as 'a tree and some clothing' ( heh heh ) and tell them to start writing anything but it has to include them somewhere. After about five minutes, I write somet...

I dont know what some of you are bitching about....I found the movie wove an intricate plot and although the actors tried a little too hard to fit in with the style of the visuals I enjoyed the dialouge. As for it being souless.,. whaaaaaat! the intesity in almost every scene absolutely required a ...

As for the creative writing whinge...anyone can write something creatively from absolutely nothing and go nuts with it. True creativity is taking what's already there and making it your own. I'd say that's why you were given guidelines about what to write about. But then, I only teach ten year olds...

Yes, that was exactly what drove me crazy about the class. Everything had very narrow guidelines. Not once were we allowed to just create something out of thin air. I'd been writing for years when I took this class; I didn't need training wheels.

I've never dealt with that, but I did have a Creative Writing teacher who didn't allow us to actually create anything. That was frustrating as hell.

Did this somehow switch from a fictional orgy to a real one since last night? ($55 a couple reserves you a spot in the gangbang festival going on in the local swingers' club soon here in Portland.) Here's something that'll really drive you crazy, then: I liked "Crouching Tiger" and "Brotherhood of the Wolf". However, I thought "Hero" was way overrated. The fighting isn't exciting --suicide for a kung-fu movie. I didn't start out hating "Sin City"; I was just really disappointed. However, the m...

I don't personally feel it was soulless as you put it. You can see the attention to detail and the amount of effort that was put into the film. I mean Robert Rodriguez had to quit the Director's Guild to make this movie, he definitly cared a lot about it. Most directors don't just throw away their ...

Sin City was a perfect (as Robert Rodriguez called it) "transfer" to film Perfect, yet ultimately barren and meaningless. I don't like paying to see a movie and finding out that I've been suckered into watching a very expensive film-school art project. I try to keep the faith that someday Rodriguez...
