Lawks-a-lordy. Leffel lives.

(And my login somehow still works, and counts me as a moderator. How many years has it been?)

Right. Comic is up, with cooly minimal five-minute-html site design. If I can, I'll get hold of the rest of the storyline's strips and add links to them too.

Whoa. Okay, the virus of last weekend apparently hit the Keen servers just as the sites were being transferred... and mine was one of the ones which didn't make it across. It's not an access error: the whole site is literally empty. Good thing I've missed my lecture this morning... I'll try to get s...

Unfortunately, I can't - I don't have the details of my other webspace here. Sorry. Um... I'll try to get it sorted out.

I've been getting 403 Forbidden errors when I try to go to the main page, and 404 Not Found ones when I try to reach any other page. What's everyone else finding?

I have a lava lamp. It sits unplugged at home. (The porters here would have a fit if I used it here, as they are fire risks extraordinaires . Being metallic cases containing lightbulbs and filled with large quantities of oil.) A cheap equivalent (well, provided you already have a fast computer) is t...

Yes. I agree. I particularly rue the death of No Outlet, since it was pretty much unique (especially in its later weekly format). Hiatus is looking like the number one cause of webcomic death these days. I generally think that they're a cause for concern when the author's been losing interest in the...

A possible solution. For those offended by the views expressed in last Friday's strip, I suggest mentally replacing the final panel with this 'moderated' version: http://www.albionfuzz.com/images/20030117b.png Worryingly, I find this far funnier than the original. Perhaps it's that it struck me afre...

There's no contradiction between the comic and serious, as I see it, and I think you do a pretty good job of combining them. That's true, and I don't think I could go for very long without doing something serious. (Perhaps I should rephrase that.) It's that I felt the seriousness had started to per...

Shut down? Censorship, surely! :) This is far too interesting to shut down. RHJunior: I've no doubt that the extreme ends of the political spectrum both behave equally badly, but to take the part (however spectacular) for the whole is better polemic than it is argument. As are the kind of easy gener...

Quite right. Lest anyone get the wrong idea: Alex is an independent, fictional character. He's not a mouthpiece for my own views. In fact the phrase 'imaginations of the overwrought' is probably an accurate description of his character. His closing remark is the kind of thing which it is very easy t...

The land of lost toys (OT)

Hypothetical nostalgia-inducing question: are there any objects (of any description) you no longer have which you'd like to see again? (For example, I'd like to find again the small postcard emblazoned with the slogan 'KARLUV NON STOP MOST' [translation: Charles Non-Stop Bridge], just for the roundn...

Thanks, everybody.

I did wonder while I was writing that announcement whether I was subconsciously copying the webcartoonists I most admire... but I think it's a good enough idea anyway for me not to be too worried about it.

Huge, world-shattering announcement time...

(Reproduced here in case you only check the site on Fridays.) After this storyline - which will go on for three to five more strips - AF will be officially (words which always toll like plague bells in these announcements) on hiatus for a while. I don't know exactly how long yet, though I will set ...

Wah

I didn't mean to! It was an accident - I swear - Apologies. Starting college is difficult enough without being killed over the internet. The on-strip tension will be resolved on Friday. I'll be posting some news about What Happens Now For AF during the week, too; hopefully everyone'll be able to liv...

I watched (though under some coercion - the alternative was standing outside) Something About Mary and I didn't find it all that bad. I didn't enjoy it very much either, though... I wasn't put off by the crudeness, I just found that the comedy it was meant to convey just missed me. American Pie suff...

Very true. (The more I think about it, the less enviable a proposition a tail seems. But I suppose you'd learn to account for it without thinking.) If you want to compare other instances of the sofa for relative dimensions, you can (but there are perhaps better ways to spend an evening). In my mind ...

I'm not giving up; I'm just thinking about doing something a bit different. This could range from a new 'act' and storylines, through a more extensive re-maki...

Mmm. Don't worry: I've been given (thanks, Mum) appropriate software to do the standard AF shading, so things will be back to normal for the time being. However, I have to say I'm rethinking the strip's future; Friday updates will continue for the time being, but expect further announcements once I ...
