Re: Vigil

So long, suckers!

Erm. What I mean is, Virmir of Crimson Flag has been nice enough to offer me hosting somewhere with a working update system. So I shall be hanging out there from now on.

Thoughts on how the comic is coming along would be nice too.

Moving!

I'm sure anyone who reads this has seen the update before this post. But just in case, Vigil has moved from the current comicgen location to this new site!

Re: Artist looking for Writer

I am looking for a writer with a self-contained story (6 to 20 pages, preferably about 12). This can be a chapter of something else or a self-contained story, and I will handle all the art-work and lettering. I will also put it online but if you have your own website already I am happy for it to ap...

Re: Constructive feedback for "Inexplicable Adv. of Bob!"

Maybe some spot colouring, or just colour certain days? The cartoony art looks like it would benefit hugely from some bright, primary colours, and it looks really great in your avatar and the banner and everywhere else you coloured it.

It might just be that it's so huge next to the torso.

Monster

Anyone seen this anime? Based on the manga by Naoki Urasawa? If you haven't you should go watch it immediately because while I have not seen all of it yet (it is very long) I can already report that it is pretty much the greatest thing ever. I have learned so much about writing believable characters...

Re: Twilight Fans Beat Haters Into Submission!

I am detecting extremely high levels of phoneyness from all of these stories. The last two are almost certainly fake.

Re: Doodles 11: Actual doodles also accepted.

Question? How could I draw snow in the art style of Darkly Shining, where the sky is always white? Answer: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/Alias13/Snowfall.png I thought it would be harder but it's basically the same thing as making Darkly Shining normally: create depth with only strong black, ...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter

Actually in prose I would probably write that entire panel as ' ZAM! ' But I am kind of a minimalist. I'd like to take this opportunity to share a rule of characterization I've developed for myself. The rule is, all that you need to do to make an audience identify with a character is prove that that...

Re: Literary Doodles?

I dunno. You'd have to ask the werewolf. Anyway, chapter three. I don't think I'll be posting more here so check out my deviantArt account. I've titled the whole story Lonely Howling. Chapter 3: Liquid Silver Felan's smile was gone, supplanted by a pained expression. 'Something like a vampire' might...

Re: Literary Doodles?

Part 2! This chapter is called 'In a Blue Moon.' It was a cold, clear night. The moon shone overhead, noticeably thicker on one side that the other. Not as beautiful as a full moon, he thought, but not bad, not bad at all. Still made him want to howl, howl with the roaring wind to glorify the night....

Fun biology fact: all dudes get boners during REM sleep (the dream part of your sleep cycle) regardless of what you're dreaming about. This is what actually causes morning wood.

Re: What's with the Vampire obsession nowadays?

However, I'd like to see more stories in which lycanthropy is a curse of any kind. Not in the angsty 'this sucks it's totally a curse' kind of way. In the 'you are cursed, you and everyone around you are screwed for magical reasons' kind of way. Seriously, is there any good werewolf fiction out the...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter

I think it's more the lack of a nose to fill all the space but yeah, Haruhi's art style is an extreme of anime and can look a little weird. But here's Kyon from the same show. http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/4083/kyon8cj.jpg See? Guys always have much smaller eyes, unless they're meant to be youn...

Literary Doodles?

I wrote this thing and wanted to show it to people, but I wasn't sure where and didn't want to put a huge text wall in the doodles thread so here. This is a sort of freewriting thing I did. It is a short story about a werewolf. It is called 'What A Werewolf Really Looks Like.' Tell me if you like it...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter

Well I'm not sure you really need to get the complaints, just understand that a lot of people are going to take one look at the characters and decided not to read this based just on that. And, like I said, adult male humans are never drawn with eyes that size. Children sometimes and women, but not m...
