Re: Comments and shoutboxes
Well, I understood from context that the examples I gave aren't good examples if I want to use Comic Gen. What I've gathered from the rest is that I need to set up a blog. But I don't know what a cbox is for where I'd place it in the code. Also, what's the significance of having blog articles locke...

Comments and shoutboxes
What experience do people have with getting comments on a comic? I've seen several styles, from a small shout box to one side of the page, to comments that are centered and go down for awhile. This comic and this one are examples of the latter. I was wondering, is that a particularly well known or ...

Re: Comic page formatting confusion
Are one or all of the elements on the left too big to be on the left? If you say the links may be small enough to fit, then I'd have the links, with a background box to make em stand out, and the ad. Then I'd place the dropdown menu in the center, and the calendar centered underneath it. Also, do y...

Re: Comic page formatting confusion
I had a buffer of 25 pages when the site went up, and when I got to about page 20 I started drawing pages again. But twice a week updates have caught up with me and I only have one more week of pages ready to go (two more pages). Then the updates will slow to once a week at best in most cases. As f...

Re: Comic page formatting confusion
Naw, my page as it is isn't too complicated right now, and I'd like to have all the features on each page. I also have a note for each page, and I'd like to have em displayed for each page.

Re: Comic page formatting confusion
p.s. Don't forget to change your daily template too. lol, wut? Edit: Okay, I've been playing with my index template a little bit on my own. I put a newsbox (displays other comic gen comics) and a drop down menu that shows my storylines, and another advertisement at the bottom under my news. And I'm...

Re: Comic page formatting confusion
Honestly Jpac, you are being a huge help. I can't thank you enough. I actually feel a little bit ashamed that you're making all this nice code ready made, while I'm kind of sitting on my laurels

Re: Comic page formatting confusion
It is indeed growing (as long as we're going with the baby metaphor)! I'd say it's somewhere in the first trimester. Near the end. Three things. Can you make the links on the left be in one column as opposed to a 2x2 deal? (also please highlight the code I'd need to replace to make them image links...

... although, after looking at it, maybe that's not what you intended...? I think I get ahead of myself.
Most everything was in the right place, but some links weren't displaying and the colors of the site weren't there.

Re: Comic page formatting confusion
A truly massive aid to my endeavors. Not only have you educated me about the way tables are used on pages, but you have provided me with code ready to go! I'll upload this as a new index template, see how the site looks when it updates, and decide if I want to make any changes. If I do, I'll tweak ...

Re: Comic page formatting confusion
It would not be automatic, no. You would have to design the character page yourself. You would have to delete the content you mentioned in your question - comic and navigation buttons, etc. As for you character profile, you would put whatever code you are using to display links to each of the chara...

First of all, good to speak with you again Dr. Neo Lao. Nice to see you're still sporting my sig! I shall make a new one someday soon.. Re: Comic page formatting confusion
Hello again Comic Genesis! I have returned after merrily updating my comic for 31 pages, and I wish to improve my site. I have posted in this older thread so that, if you are website savvy, you might read through and understand what I have done so far, to aid with want I want/plan to do. I would li...

Oops, posted in a few other threads and bumped my comic off the top of the list. I did post in some good comic's threads though.

Re: Wanna get your stuff seen?
The article linked in the first post makes a lot of sense. I don't know about other artists, but as an artist myself, I know that if someone made some fan art of my characters, I'd be somewhere from duly impressed, to giddy with excitement, to sobbing with joy. It's nice to know that your character...

Re: Dead Coyote Talks
I'd have to agree with the other folks who have posted. I'm not a huge fan of comics that have one single panel repeated through the whole page, or in this case, twenty one pages. But every comic has potential to improve (including mine), so I won't condemn or put this one down. Maybe if you found ...

Re: Indavocalypse
This looks to be a great comic Indavo! The art is good, and though the text is a bit small (at least in the earlier pages. The later ones look fine, I had the same problem), it creates a good first impression. I'm a fan of starting stories at the beginning, as I hate to miss out on plot details, so...
