Dude, the thread title says "work out horribly". Don't be posting unrelated things up in people's threads, it's bad form.

Re: Acceptable Starting Skill.

I don’t have much in the way of advice, but I did have a somewhat similar experience – I’d always loved to draw, but for years I didn’t feel my drawings were good enough to show anyone, so I didn’t, until a few years ago when I thought to hell with that, what’s the worst that could happen? So I star...

Re: In-depth manga critique, please

Since you asked for a critique, I'm going to be brutally honest with you, and I hope you won't take offense if anything comes off as being too harsh. As the other posters have pointed out, the anatomy is one of the most obvious flaws. Anatomy is largely about proportions - how wide are the shoulders...

This. Not a fan of hovertext.

Re: Supernaturals Presents

I think I saw Arcturus in the early days when you first posted it here, I was very impressed by the artwork and I'm glad you're still going strong. I think you have 2 very good comics here, but I do have a couple of suggestions regarding the site design: 1) add navigation buttons above your comics, ...

Tales from the Middle Kingdom is 1 year old

Hi,
I started my comic Tales from the Middle Kingdom here on CG last year (wonder if any of my old forum-mates are still around...), and moved to my own website a few months ago. Today's update is the 1 year anniversary, I'd love to hear your opinions on it.
Take care all,

Re: Using Technical Pen in Comics

I don't ink with pens any more, but I used to, and I had the same problem with technical pen lines coming out too thin. I experimented a bit with different pens, eventually I found that I liked extra fine point Sharpies. They take a little getting used to at first, but I think they work out ok ( exa...

You might be interested in this comic. I'm not a big fan of it to be honest, but it does include music and sound effects.

Re: Best comic book paper

A lot of that I think has to do with what tools you're going to use and what effects you want to achieve. I use brushes exclusively (no pens of any kind). I used to use bristol boards, but did not like the way they absorbed the ink, so I switched to watercolor paper. I'm much happier with watercolor...

Re: HELP! comic book setup question

If you're trying to do this on paper, get a set of triangle rulers, those things are very helpful for keeping all your lines at the same desired angle. But even with those the panels are still likely to be a little off after you scan them, unless you want to spend a lot of time making sure your pape...

Re: Reaching the end of the proverbial line

just abandon the whole thing for a while until I feel more competent about it. But the only way to get more competent is to keep working at it. Don't give up. Like Spaceprincess said, everybody goes through this. In fact it's probably a good sign that you can see what needs to be improved with your...

Because I've always loved to draw. If I'm not drawing my comic I'll probably be drawing something else anyway. So why not? *shrugs*

I've been stalking this thread since the beginning. Thanks for putting in all the time and effort to write these re...

Thanks for setting it up Mercury Hat. I can't seem to find the option to sticky topics on the forum. Is that option available to forum mods? Thanks again.

Re: How do I sticky a topic?

Thanks for the reply Dr Neo Under "submit" I see the usual options ("Disable BBCode", "Disable smilies", etc) but no "make it sticky". I'm able to access the "quick-mod tools" and also get into the moderator control panel, which allows me to lock/unlock and split/merge, but I can't find the sticky o...

How do I sticky a topic?

I just started a forum for my comic (I'm the moderator), and I'm trying to get the intro topic to stay on top, but I can't find the sticky option. Can anyone tell me how to do this?
Thanks a bunch.
