Re: Monkeys With Tablets

Oh! Well that's alright. I've found comics, too, where I think "Yeah it's alright, I can see how people will enjoy it, but not me". People just have different tastes.

Thanks for giving it a chance, though.

Re: Monkeys With Tablets

Oh no! Some of them are puns, which can be hard to understand, which may explain that. Also, depending on where you live, your dialect of English may be different, which can contribute to that as well. But, also, some comics don't have jokes in them necessarily - they're just kind of cute, like Wint...

Re: Iframe help

Are you using a percentage to define your height? For example, height="70%" ? If you are, take out the % symbol so that it's looking at pixles, rather than percentage. That will work. I'm not sure of the reason why the percent won't work here, but I think it may have to do with the DIV, and that it'...

Monkeys With Tablets

Monkeys With Tablets! Whoo, isn't that a fun name? Monkeys With Tablets is a ranadom gag comic, usually centred around animals. It's fun, wacky, and sometimes even cute and adorable. Right now I'm in the middle of a 3 part mini-arc featuring MWT's very own Ninja Monkey. The exciting conclusion comes...

Re: Recommend An FTP Program

For that I'd recommend Browser Shots. It allows you to test your page on a number of different browsers, without having to install them yourself. All it needs is time, but with your ability to choose which browser you want to check, and if you only want the big three, then takes a lot less time.

Re: Recommend An FTP Program

I'm liking the sound of that, booze-man. Only thing is, and this may shock you to your core, but I don't have Firefox. I just can't see the point of having to get another webbrowser when I already have one that works fine. I may have to though if only for this, or DL the files to my own computer and...

That guy wrote:I've been using CORE FTP lite for years. It's served me just dandy.
Hah, nicely done. Yeah I'm using it too. Do you edit on your FTP? And, if so, do you notice my above problem happening at all? Maybe it's a preference/option I can change or something ...

Re: Recommend An FTP Program

i dont understand what all this code editing talk is about - an FTP program shouldn't alter your website's code... just upload stuff True, but all (at least all I've seen) FTP program allow you to edit your pages through the FTP program, and when your done and saved it will upload it. I like doing ...

Re: Recommend An FTP Program

I actually have the default editor set up as Notepad, but still, for some reason - more and more often - when I save, it automatically forgets all the line breaks and puts in to a streaming line of congested code. Very frustrating. You make a good point, Wendybird. I may have to start doing that ins...

Recommend An FTP Program

I was using SmartFTP for awhile, but now they no longer offer their free version, so I needed to find a new one. I tried a couple suggest on the CGWiki (who's names I can't recall just now) and searched on my own, and finally found one I liked called CoreFTP. The reason why I didn't like any of the ...

Re: When to Outline/Colour

I was thinking of making a photocopy originally, but wondered about which copy to experiment with colours on. The original would still has rough sketch lines and extended ruler lines, and if they're on a copy they can't just be erased, then again I don't want to ruin the original. I think if I outli...

Re: When to Outline/Colour

Oh, hah, sorry about that. Yeah I meant by hand, not digitally, and I meant more so about the actual art itself, because for me borders are a last step.

When to Outline/Colour

When working with paper and pencil, do you think its best to outline your piece before you colour it, or after? Any other thoughts on this or a similar topic would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Advertisement tag

Though I don't know what causes the problem, I do find that that very thing does happen to me as well. As long as the tag is there though, you shouldn't run in to problems with the CG brass. It's when you take it away that it's a problem. Just try refreshing the page, or leaving it alone - no need t...

Re: Webpage Clutter?

Wow, I really like that. However, it says it wouldn't be able to work if I referenced an outside source. In this case, my iFrame goes to blogger.com. I'm guessing you're somewhat familiar with this script so I'll ask you: am I reading this right and it won't work? Or am I reading it right, and maybe...

Re: RSS feeds?

What I did was simply have an image that said "RSS" and then linked to the RSS. So, in HTML, it goes something like: <A href="/rss.xml"><IMG src="images/rss.jpg" border="0"></A> And you can change whatever need be, like the location of things and the extension and name of your image. Then, depending...

Re: RSS feeds?

All comics have an automatic RSS feed located at yourname.comicgenesis.com/rss.xml

It automatically updates, but there has been some some discussion on customizing it.

Well as long as the average reader, in this case you, can find the blogs still readable and doesn't think the page looks cluttered, then I'm happy. Thanks for your input on this.

Re: Webpage Clutter?

I narrowed all the pages, including the blog section on the main page, and also made a lot of the images, including the navigation images, a lot smaller. Still though, the blog section seemed too narrow, so I changed the actual blog page to get rid of some of the bigger images in it. Is the blog por...
