Re: Today's comic

Good catch on the flying pig, I didn't even notice that at first!

Lol, and what self respecting half orc would only have the strength 18, any barbarian would be lvl 20! (see sig :p)

Re: Your favorite game setting, and why...

Less setting, more of a theme.

Dark, realistic and brutal with slim chance of survival.

Personally, I have always fantasized about being mechanical genius, sort of batman combined with mad scientist.

Re: D&D 4th Ed Discussion

That is still exactly how the hobby started - And I'm not sure what the lack of non-evil dragons has to do with that. Teaching my younger brother many years ago to play, the good/evil dragons were what attracted him. Think to most fantasy dragon movies, you have good ones, or good ones vs evil ones...

Re: D&D 4th Ed Discussion

Well, coming up on my 19th year of DnDing, It is not the system that is the problem. It is the complete exclusion of what makes DnD, DnD. The freaking dragons. The change in the traditional adventuring party I found in imagry to be very cool. Going from the complete lack of uniformity in a tradition...

Re: Odd thoughts about fiction

Well, in terms of RPGs, that is why DnD had the alignment system. In the rules even, it says that good and evil are not a matter of perception, but is what is. Something that is evil, just is. Evil things know there evil. That was put in simply to prevent moral dilemas. In terms of real life, I have...

Re: D&D 4th Ed Discussion

And that is what they were aiming for, a new system so that players who have not played, or only played a little can get right in and enjoy. Having read the system, I find that it offers alot. But having 18 years of previous dnd experience, I had to get my mind separated from the old school stuff. I...

Re: Dark Heresy

Game creation is awesome. I have actually been working on one myself that follows another one of my story draft. It is a military war game that is designed to be played team vs team, rpg (both you control one power unit per player) or a large war game. Unlike normal miniatures, you do not by a force...

Re: Dark Heresy

Well, I heard that just the other day. Yours is probably the same news, just the details more accurate. I rarely concern myself with news surrounding games and such. Soh yours is probably a more detailed version of what I was saying, and knew about it before I did.

Re: Example 4th ed story intro

Well, to keep it like one of my dnd games, I rolled stuff for whom does what, and it was all done as I typed for less than an hour. mainly a test to see how well the new system works. Who knows, maybe I will keep adding to it and make it a short story... if I have time, too many on the go already. A...

Yeah, it is definitely something worth trying to have, although more for geekchat than the comic itself I figure it would be used for.

Example 4th ed story intro

This was requested in the fourth ed thread earlier Okay, have been a bit delayed this weekend, so now for my introduction to a fake campaign. Note, this is being written on the fly with the characters being introduced rolled up at that point. So I will talk out and introduce a 4 party campaign intro...

Re: Dark Heresy

Yeah, got ahold of the new book as well, the inquisitorial. Oh, and found out why out of print, apparently, GW yanked the dark industries licensing to to some money skimming or something. The books supposedly will go back into print by a different company it seems. Or at least that is what I was tol...

Re: Random, awesome stuff

Well, one of my favorite vids is an AMV of bleach done to powerman2000's bombshell. The scene selections were well thought out and timed. Good one when you need some energy/angry music. SPOILERS!

Re: Today's comic

I wish *I* had a marvelous hat! That is what 212 packs of mountain dew are for. (always drank it for dnd since I was a kid, so loved it when I saw the summoners bonus video the ref). Anyways, to make a long story short, was having a long night of gaming, was a bit tired, and the players visited a t...

Lol, no. Went fanboy about dnd since I have been playing it so long. Been visualizing working and ways to work it. Throwing my old dnd ideals out the window and will probably do everything from scratch with fourth. Good times for a DM!

Re: D&D 4th Ed Discussion

No problem, in fact if it was not for the creation of worlds, story lines and characters, I would problably never even play DnD. Which is why statistics for any character for anything never really matters. Actually, my second to last campaign, never really took off due to people moving and such for u...

Re: D&D 4th Ed Discussion

Well, going to be picking up the books this weekend to give a good read over. With a better picture on the basis of the new classes/races, I am pretty sure that I can come up with an awesome world setting. If I cannot, I shall forever hang up my dice bag and pass my title of unstumpable to another. ...

Ahh, was close. A geek losing their temper can be a dangerous thing. Often spurred by a loss of tolerance caused by problems associate from not being in the categorized social norm.
