For the comic I do almost all on my own, instead of using little pieces of paper I actually use an excel spreadsheet, and have as a basic outline events that I want to happen, "Like X and Y fight" "X gets kidnapped" or whatever. Next to those I write down snippets of dialogue or more in depth action...
